No more Cotten Candy for 25 cents!

I went to the Indians game yesterday with my gf. For two hotdogs and two beers I spent $20 dollars. I don't find alot of value in that. Now perhaps it was a decent price compared to other venues and games. It still doesn't take away from the fact that it is overpriced in my opinion. Sorry not made of money like some people. I didn't complain about it, but my mindset was buy as little food as possible at the game and go somewhere else where you get better value for your money. Again maybe the price was inline with what it should be when comparing it to the Q (gund) or other sporting/amusement events. If so I think you have poor value for what your getting.

From reading the thread I have to agree that the price of CP food compared to value is very high. Rarely I eat at CP because I know I can goto a sitdown or fastfood restuarant and get more/better food for the same or less money (maybe a bit more). I don't mind paying $20-$30 a plate if I know I am getting my money's worth, and a leaving with a great experience that had great service. I agree with those that say CP management is only thinking short term with the pricing moves. "Oh, lower prices didn't increase attendence last year so that was a bad idea, time to raise it." $10 dollars for parking is high, and immediately puts a bad taste in the mouth of a low to moderate income person who can only come once a year with their family.

10 dollars isn't that high. Not for a whole day.

Downtown Chicago will run you about 30 dollars a day (or more).

Its 5.00 for the Detroit or Toledo Zoos (but I don't know if that compares too well to an amusement park).

I think its 30 or 40 to park in the lots right by Comerica Park (for a 3 hour game) and around 10 to park by The Joe.

Walt Disney World is 10 bucks per day. And DisneyLand is 11.

Paying 10 bucks to park for 12 hours or more isn't terribly unreasonable. And I've never had it leave a sour taste in my mouth.

Calculating alcohol into any equation is not ever a fair comparison. You're not going to pay less than seven bucks in any major entertainment venue.

Yeah that's true, I'm just used to buying it (alcohol) in the grocery stores for far less. But that is dead on in comparision to other venues it's not high. I think the hotdog was $4.75 or 5ish, probably not priced high in comparison to other places, but after I ate it, I thought man that was an expensive hot dog.

Hooper, that's why when I go to games, I plan on spending X dollars (all cash, the cards don't get used) and don't worry about prices. When the money's gone, I'm done. Although I usually save a couple bucks to get a pop towards the end of the game.

Yeah, smart idea, we both had $25 in cash for food, and by the end of the game it was basically burnt on hotdogs, a couple rounds of beer and nachos.

You pay people to punch you in the face? I'm confused. :)
