No cell phones... at all

They could setup a phone/small loose articles check, similar to a coat check, next to the photo booth or SV Store. It would take care of the 2 hr limit on the $2 locker and all-day time limit at a locker problem. Also, they could make it $1 or Less and have it not appear as a money grab to some. Plus it would be available at ride exit / SV Store and encourage friends waiting to look at photo purchases and merchandise longer.

However if there is a contract with the locker company it may go against whatever revenue sharing contract they have.

Also, unfortunately this is unlikely, given the human to human contact to make a coat check style system work effectively, there’s the potential for responsibility of lost/broken items. However, the park/ other businesses which used to be very against their employees handling your phone has changed in the last couple years to where if is commonplace.

Edit: for below- Thanks for reminding me about school trips, etc. A coat check style system could allow for them to offer free article check, via wristband, to the attendees such as school children that are likely to blow their money on candy.

I can say you will not see any teenagers paying for a locker. How will this work on middle school field trips? I get the policy but the implementation is lacking. As stated, there needs to be free lockers/storage locations.

Another thing with the bins - I don't trust putting a $1000 phone, $1600 camera, $200 glasses/sunglasses, whatever else over there - even if they secure it with a seatbelt during the ride, there is ALWAYS a chance that someone from your train can grab and run before you even get to the bin. It's safe to say that I'm not very trusting of people.

There has always been free lockers/storage at Cedar Point. It is the trunk of your car. And there is no time limit.

I've been seeing Cell Phone charger lockers around places. Basically a free tiny locker with Driod and Iphone ports to charge the the phone while it is locked up. If they are really looking for compliance, I'm sure more people would be willing to throw their phone in one of these knowing they will get a full charge out of it as well. Granted there is zero ROI on that, but would go a long way to add to the guest experience and help with compliance. I doubt there are enough 'regular' lockers there anyway to get full compliance.

I don't think overall this ban is a money grab ($2 a locker isn't much), but the optics certainly don't look good for a place that has a reputation for nickle and dime-ing,

I don't like this no phone policy. What do you all think?

So what's the plan they gonna pat everyone down now? Add an additional 1 hour to the wait time.

I'm not questioning keeping us safe, how about stick it to the ones who always pull their phones out while on the rides. Make the penalty stiff, you do it you are removed from the park. Period. If you are a season pass holder your pass is revoked.

Let's hit the idiots out there that cause issue pay the price. Not us who follow the rules, secure ALL lose articles.

Some of us follow the rules, why penalize us?

At the park for day 2 of our trip right now. 1 ride on SV yesterday, our first since the new policy. Guy walking into line in front of us was stopped and questioned by the ride host since he had cargo pants on. He stopped him and pointed and the pockets and told him that he had to get a locker if he had a phone in there (while still pointing at the pockets). Once in line, we had 2.5 queues to wait in the pen before going down under the brake run. They had a ride host in the pen walking around and standing at times. He caught one person sneaking a peek and gave them the bad news. Once in the walkway another host walked down on the side twice, but thats it. No mention at the platform from the host there. Line pace was very slow due to heavy fastlane use.

I don't have an issue with this but Cedar Point needs to provide free lockers for this. A small tiny locker is all that is needed to hold keys, phones and wallets. No more. We pay a premium to get into this park, they nickel and dime us with food and drink already, if this is a new policy then they need to accommodate the paying public. I mean come on $5 for a hot dog at the beach party? Seriously, they could charge $1 and still make a profit.

It's getting ridiculous, you pay a premium to visit what I still think is the best damn park around and they still want to pinch for every god damn penny they can get.

You can't tell me providing a 1'x1'x1' locker to hold keys, phones and wallets is going to break them.

They are going to start losing customers and long time customers if they keep this business model up.

I love that small locker idea. It doesn't seem the CF way to provide much for free but I'd really like to see that type of locker get built for their rides they'd want to use this policy on. Then keep the larger lockers paid as they are now.

Not on Frontier Fling they’re not! :)

But don’t worry, we have bins... ;)

I don’t consider that or the Slingshot as part of the regular ride package. Something to do with the cash register at the ride entrance.

I wonder how the ride ops feel about this new policy. It could not have been popular when management told them that they now need to harass almost every person as the enter the line.

Will be there August 7th and 9th with my wife. We bought fast lane pluses months ago so it sounds like we will be ok with buying a $2 locker and riding as many times as we can then coming back and doing it again later. We have Note 8's so I don't want to have to try to hide those monsters haha!

I agree with a lot posts on here. They need to offer free tiny lockers as you load on. Trust me, most six flags rides in Texas, including Iron Rattler, offer free bins as you load up and the load times are BARELY affected.

It makes no sense not allowing phones at all in queue lines. I understand the safety issue of not allowing phones on the ride. Yeah! But the queue line is when it becomes a money grab and not about safety.

My argument isn't really debatable through logic.
