Next Ride to be sold/taken down

It would be nice if they built a long wooden coaster like Shivering Timbers. Anyway, I just have that feeling that Iron Dragon will be the next to go. I don't want to see it go, but I have that weird feeling.

Calypso is the only ride that shows signs of leaving anytime soon. The little theming the ride once had is gone and it's location doesn't attract any guest.

You have to use common sense here.

CP doesn't just knock down any ol' ride just because it has a great location. Repair cost, ridership, and guest satisfaction all have a lot to do with things.

Jeff has posted several hints that WWL will be gone. He mentioned he would take his last ride on it earlier this month. I say remove CCMR. It sits on a big lot, in front of undeveloped land on Millenium Island, it's old, and there's never a line for it. Most of the time they don't even have all the seats open.

For those who say they will never remove Corkscrew becasue of the loops over the midway...who says they couldn't do that on a new coaster? Plus they could always tear down the crappy dorms next to it to make more room for a larger coaster.

Never say never. I never thought Demon Drop would be gone, and it sits on a very small plot.

I don't think Blue Streak will be removed, because there are wooden coasters from as early as the 1920's or 1930's that still operate. Thunderbolt at Dorney is an Example. I think Wild Cat will be gone soon.

None of the roller coasters will be removed unless they are damaged beyond repair. CP wants to be the park with the most of them, and their are other parks on its coattails.

Peace mike

Lol,vortex, I love Wild Cat it's a good get away from the big ol' coasters. I laugh everytime i walk by it and say that doesn't belong at cp..it's more like a carnival ride that comes to town every year. Hell i laugh when i get off of it too it's a good little ride for the young and young at heart.

That's an ethusiast's POV.

CCMR is one of those rides that every park needs to have, regardless of the fact that there is rarely a long line. Runaway mine rides can be found at almost every amusement/theme park, and CP would just have to build another one if they tore it down. It's good for families and younger folk who might be a tad too small or scared to jump on TTD.

The ride itself is in great shape, especially considering its age. Very smooth, fast (considering its only 50' high) and pretty fun. It fits very well in FT, so I can't think of any reason to get rid of it.

The same could be said for ID. While most of us enthusiasts might not be too sad to see it go, I can't imagine why CP would want to get rid of it. Its another family/youngster-friendly ride that is fun and still in great shape. Why take out a perfectly good ride when it adds significant value to your park?

Coaster design is at the point now that existing rides (except for woodies) don't pose too much of a problem as far as taking up space. A new coaster can be designed to fit snugly within other rides, so long as there's room for the station somewhere.

I'd really hate to see ID, CS or CCMR go. While they aren't the fastest/tallest/etc coasters in the world, they still add that little something to the park that would be forever lost without them.

Ill just say it one more time and then leave the thread. Talking "bigger" rides, the next to go will be Disaster Transport. I hope.

Iron Dragon is not going anywhere for quite some time. It is a nice family coaster and still gets a line. Disaster Transport I think will be going soon. I would not be doubtful of Wildcat going and being replaced with a enclosed spinning wild mouse.

I'm still expecting that Chaos will disappear at some point in the next few years. I'll be sad to see it go, but I do get uneasy whenever I ride it.

I think they should taer down Millennium Force because the line's too long and you can't bring your maXair cup in line.

I'm officially done reading this topic.

Are you Crazy?!?!?!?! Thats the worst Idea of the whole topic.
Anyway, I highly doubt Snake River Falls is going anywhere. If you take out WWL which is most likely,Snake River Falls will have the busiest line. I honestly don't see that ever happening.

Iron Dragon is to me is a much better coaster then Disaster Transport. One thing you notice about Disaster Transport thats nice is the aircondition, but when you get on it on a hot day, you can still feel the hot sun. It gets Hot in there. Disaster Transport would be cool if it had theming in it like FOF did at Kings Island. I never want to see Iron Dragon go, its fun to ride and is great for picture taking.

I know it isn't a "ride" but Peanuts Playground has GOT TO GO! That old Berenstein Bears tree house looks totally out of place and hideous. If guests really wanted to play in that type of "park" they can do that for free elsewhere, and not have to pay $45 to do it (I know some kids get in free, but generally, the parents tickets aren't free).

Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast

Peanuts Playground has been rumored to leave for years. And, I suspect, at some point it will.

I'll be making sure to ride White Water Landing on Sunday one last time. ;)

WWL is def. going. i heard several employees saying it.

i think DT will be next, as many of you do too. it does attract a large line in the busiest times in the summer, but the ride is not great. they could build a better indoor coaster if that's what they want. =] i like idea of an indoor wild mouse. the little kids would LOVE that. or something like Exterminator and Kennywood.

I found Runaway Mountain at Six Flags over Texas to be a pretty enjoyable indoor coaster. A lot more enjoyable than Disaster transport. If they were to build another indoor coaster, I'd want something along those lines.

DT: I know, I know. People like to say that "it's a good family coaster" or "it's unique." Bleh. Listen, I'm sure one thing CP execs take more seriously than the quantity of the coasters is the quality. Their family rides like CCMR and Iron Dragon are either historic or actually pretty decent rides. In the words of an exec, DT is "a dog." Tear it down, put in a good family coaster...even a good indoor one wouldn't be bad.

I'm not asking for them to tear it down and put in another record-breaker. Heck, CP has enough record breakers that I think they should focus on originality in the future (which is what makes PKI unique). But DT is just slow and lame. . . even kids know that.
