Next major ride

Honestly I don't see a big major ride atm, nor anything leaving the park anytime soon. I think next thing to touch up is probably Frontier Trail or something towards the back of the park. The beachfront area is cleaned up, front gate is stunning, luminosity is in and going well, dragster midway has been good for years, last thing that really needs sprucing up is back in the trail. That's just my thoughts, but we shall see

I think the Blue Streak area could use some improvement. I'd expect that to be in the 2015 plans. Wicked Twister midway got Gatekeeper this year, Gemini midway is getting 2 rides this year. The Blue Streak midway is one of the only places in the park that hasn't been touched in some time.

Ah didn't think of that, and it was the spell of rumors in the past..I could see some touch ups there.

One thing btw I'm thinking of that I know that wouldn't happen but would be awesome and I'd pay to do..get rid of the crappy go karts and get the awesome 40mph go karts like @ Cincy Full Throttle Racing :P

Are you talking about the Turnpike Cars over there? There are 3 car rides in the park. I don't see the point in duplicate rides. Even though I just said in another thread that a ride shouldn't be removed because I don't like it, but 3 car rides is a bit much. Also, IIRC, Turnpike cars course was realigned when Raptor was put in. I was also thinking if Cedars gets torn down, Perimeter Rd could be realigned, and something could fit back in there.

Turnpike Cars is absolutely useless, considering most of the adults complain how small the cars are when they have to go with their kids.

In terms of keeping Cadillac or Antique Cars, I would prefer keeping Antique Cars as it feels more in place in Frontier Town

Yes, Antique Cars are somewhat more in place back there, but I thought Frontier Town was more old west themed, when there weren't cars at the time. I'm not suggesting remove it, because in the video game, Red Dead Redemption, which took place towards the end of the old west there are old cars near a modernized town called Blackwater. I like to think of the area near Town Hall Museum and Antique cars as the "Blackwater" of Frontier Town. I know that probably doesn't make sense to most people here, but if you've played RDR, you'll know what I'm talking about.

I would love to see a dark coaster put in. Disaster Transport wasn't the best ride but it was indoors and a lot of fun.

I rode the Aerosmith Rockin' Roller Coaster at Disney World last week and loved it. They really need to do something similar with a great theme with lots to check out in the que.

I think there should be a dark ride in Frontier Town that is like a ride through the old west. There could be Cowboys and Indian animatronics, and old saloon buildings, cowboy duels and everything else that went on in the old west.

i think a ride like Fahrenheit at Hershey park would fit in well in the blue streak area

A dark ride new construction would fit nicely where Cadillac Cars, Calypso, and perimeter road currently sit. This is a great next logical move for the 2016 season. In addition at the same time Cedars would be removed with perimeter road rerouted and some updates to the marina at that point the old pirate ride building could be removed and some type of flat to take its place.

Why take out Calypso and the Cadillac cars. My wife doesn't ride the coasters so these are ones that we can do together.
You have to remember they have to keep a variety of rides for the people who can't or don't like coasters.

Both rides have low ridership currently Calypso it's self is very similar to both the scrambler and Troika both which are more popular(location helps) it's possible to relocate in the park however proximity to those two other stated attractions limit possibilities. Cadillac Cars sit on a decent parcel of land and could be easily relocated to another park that doesn't currently feature two other similar attractions. A dark ride and newer flat to the area would increase guests desire to visit what is currently a dead zone. The park is at a point where major attractions will require the removal of current attractions. Both the cad cars and calypso are very similar to other more popular attractions in the park. A dark ride may better suit non coaster riders more then you think.

So you want to put a box in front of a beautiful lake view again? If/when they add a dark ride they more than likely won't block the view of the lake, as they know that the view is an asset.

I don't want them to do anything... It's a logical use of space and far from a big box blocking the view. The view you are speaking of is not available with the exception of from a few attractions(raptor, sky ride) and the assumption here is that cedar point will put in some record breaking dark ride that will require a massive building...I am thinking something much more modest will be the reality

By removing the rides/buildings you speak of will create a view to the water and any building you put in no matter the size will block the view.

So what is your thought on what and where the next major attraction would be added? So far it seems you have tried to shoot everyone else's ideas down but have yet to offer a suggestion on this thread.

I really don't know where they are going with their next ride. I do see them doing something to the blue streak area probably connecting it to celebration plaza, hopefully by doing that they could help fix the nightmare that is crossing celebration plaza at night. I don't see them opening up a lake view in that area only to put a large building there to block the view or the addition of a floorless coaster (i really don't see the love for the ride type same thing as a normal b&m inverting coaster, only the front row has a different ride experience and that is still minimal).

I am excited that one of these is finally being built in the U.S. Maybe CP could break the 500' barrier with one and replace the Space Spiral at the same time.

New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus

for 2015 i think a dark ride will go into the old pyrite ride building, cedar dorms torn down and the midway will be expanded to celebration plaza. then in 2016 the good time theater and turn pike cars will be removed for a wood coaster built by gci or rmc.

What would be the point of that? You would have to shift perimeter road and cut into marina parking, move HR and the maria gate... for what? A new walkway with a built in bottleneck under Raptor?

Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."
