It would have been much farther away sitting on Mean Streak. The quality from there would probably not have been as good.

I'm sure once contstruction starts on the ride for 2007 they will rotate the cam anyways.
It's already well under construction. :)
If they do rotate the Skyhawk cam, there will be two web cams for the new project. Keep in mind, the location on top of Snake River Falls was not even their first choice. It was intended to be near ground level.
I'm sure, though, that at some point the Skyhawk cam will be moved - just like the Lighthouse Point, maXair, and Wicked Twister cams were.
Walt would probably know better than anyone who posts here, but Mean Streak would likely be a good location for a "Project 2007" Cam.

Because I'm sure you are all interested in seeing the testing on new webcam.
Oh, and I noticed that if the sky is white (or very light) the countdown timer cannot be seen.

It wouldn't be a web cam if it wasn't pointed at the sunrise or sunset. ;)
Speaking of which, for you photo buffs, Skyhawk will certainly be an "afternoon favorite." That's a switch, since most of the park is best to shoot in the morning.
^You're absolutely right Walt... that will definitely be a change... :)

^For the same reason you can't see the WWL area from where it is now.
Other than that, it's disappointing to see that the new cam can't shoot in the dark, so the cam will stop at 8:00 each night. :(

Haha. I don't consider site clearing nor foundation installation to be ride construction. To me that is just site preperation. The ride contruction will happen after they get parts for the actual ride.
And of course, yet again Josh makes me want to vomit.
Once the park is open, I wouldn't be suprised if they lengthened the operating time.
