It would have been much farther away sitting on Mean Streak. The quality from there would probably not have been as good.

I'm sure once contstruction starts on the ride for 2007 they will rotate the cam anyways.

It's already well under construction. :)

If they do rotate the Skyhawk cam, there will be two web cams for the new project. Keep in mind, the location on top of Snake River Falls was not even their first choice. It was intended to be near ground level.

I'm sure, though, that at some point the Skyhawk cam will be moved - just like the Lighthouse Point, maXair, and Wicked Twister cams were.

Walt would probably know better than anyone who posts here, but Mean Streak would likely be a good location for a "Project 2007" Cam.

Because I'm sure you are all interested in seeing the testing on new webcam.

Oh, and I noticed that if the sky is white (or very light) the countdown timer cannot be seen.

It wouldn't be a web cam if it wasn't pointed at the sunrise or sunset. ;)

Speaking of which, for you photo buffs, Skyhawk will certainly be an "afternoon favorite." That's a switch, since most of the park is best to shoot in the morning.

Why not perch it atop of Mean Streak? I mean, it seems like a good location. Just would maybe have to zoon in a bit.

^For the same reason you can't see the WWL area from where it is now.

Other than that, it's disappointing to see that the new cam can't shoot in the dark, so the cam will stop at 8:00 each night. :(

I do like where T&T said another cam will be up later this year. I think we can all safely assume what that one will be looking at. :)

Haha. I don't consider site clearing nor foundation installation to be ride construction. To me that is just site preperation. The ride contruction will happen after they get parts for the actual ride.

And of course, yet again Josh makes me want to vomit.

Didn't mean to make you vomit... and you said "yet again".... when did I offend you before?

By the way, I edited my post. I didn't mean to cause a fuss... Just a little joke...

I don't know why it couldn't shoot at night. Right now it'll be mostly black, but once the ride lights start getting turned on at night, it should be more than lit up enough for the cam to get some great shots.

Once the park is open, I wouldn't be suprised if they lengthened the operating time.
