Just took my daily peek at the blog, and they've announced the return of the new Skyhawk cam. It appears to be perched atop SRF.. and it's a much clearer image than what we're used to from the previous park cams.
First click on the cam even caught it in the middle of testing:

I'll piggy-back on your post ...
Yeah, its a lot better. However, wonder when that tree on the right gets its leaves if some of the view will be blocked? *** Edited 4/22/2006 3:48:29 PM UTC by ejh1701***

It is an awesome picture, and now all they have to do is rotate the cam to the left to show Project 2007 later this season.

It does look like it will be blocked, though it also appears to be the best option available at the moment.
Oh nevermind, they metioned it in the Onpoint entry already, lol.

WOW, the picture is really amazing! It has been well worth the wait. Also is this the first time that T&T had a blog on a weekend?
RIDE ON, and ON and ON and ON and ON and ON...
Maybe we need one of these cams for the cleveland cam, seems to be down more often than not,its down again, bring back the old cam we had, never was hardly down
Although this is the first 2006 weekend blog entry, they had many last year on both Saturday and Sunday.

The new cam is great! The quality is very good compared to the old one. If the tree is indeed blocking it, maybe they'll move it to where I thought they'd move it; the restrooms right next to Skyhawk. They could mount it up there on the second floor.

I have a sneaky suspicion this updated cam was not primarily installed for Skyhawk... I think by the end of this season that cam will be rotated and we will understand exactly why the cam is on top of SRF...
Ripcord Crew 2002 / MF Crew 2004
No, it is just for Skyhawk.
Tony and Tyler said "there wasn't any other place to put it." Whether that is true or not, I don't know...

Why are you stepping away in embarrassment?

No neason to be embarrassed, Josh, I thought that was a damn fine theory!
I'm sure Cedar Point wouldn't spend $900 on a cam plus installation costs just for Skyhawk. Even if they did it for that, I'm sure once contstruction starts on the ride for 2007 they will rotate the cam anyways.
The cam on Power Tower was pointed at Millennium Force. It was later rotated to show Top Thrill Dragster.
Not only that but they also installed the pee pee cam. :)
