I knock out the hot of my smoke by twisting it and then I put the butt in the garbage. It's easier than trying to find an ash tray.
Disney does have a smoking policy, but they don't enforce it very well. Neither does New York City.... It seems most of these places have abandoned trying to enforce their policy. Thats fine by me. *** Edited 5/26/2006 12:25:52 PM UTC by Coastern3rd***
Yeah, I do that most of the time, too, but it still bugs me a little, because I don't like littering at all.

They should offer passes just like every other chain.
Disney doesn't. Neither does Herschend (SDC/CC + Dollywood, though premium passholders with one property get discounts at the other.). Busch and some Paramount parks offer two flavors: one-park-only, or all-parks.
Sure the WDW pass doesn't get you into DL/DCA or the world Disney's, but it does get you into 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, and pleasure island. Not to mention the boku discounts on hotel rooms and whatever else you get with it. Not a bad value for the 150(?) bucks it costs.

A WDW annual pass is much higher than $150. There are various levels, but state residents start at $325 just for the four parks (no waterparks, Pleasure Island, etc.).
They're still a great deal, though, if you're there often enough.

Ah. I hadn't ever really looked into it as Disney is a once every couple years thing for us. I know one of the guide books suggested getting them if you're planning on going two years in a row, just make sure to schedule your next visit before the passes expire. The amount saved with the discounts and admission would make it worth it.

That's less true with the current pricing structure: two week-long trips to WDW is about $500 per adult for the four theme parks only, and about $600 for the theme parks plus the minor gates. Each annual pass for us would be about $450 for the four theme parks, and a bit more than $550 if you throw in the minor gates.
The hotel discounts can make passes much more attractive, but they aren't what they used to be.
A DL AP, which is more comparable (two theme parks) is $120 if you are a local, but you can't go on any weekend day, or any day when any kid within 500 miles might actually be off of school, and it doesn't include parking. For $150, locals can come on Sundays too. $229 is the cheapest non-resident pass, and it gets you in most days except spring/summer Saturdays and major holidays, but doens't include parking. It's $349 for any time plus parking.

I just have to chime in about the ash trays. As a former midway sweep I definately do not want ashtrays in an amusement park. Why? Because people fill them with everything BUT butts.
What a park needs are a lot of trash cans. A lot. People won't, in general, walk more than five feet to deposit their trash. I'll take the occasional can fire over cleaning out nasty ash trays any day.
That cartoon is pretty funny. I still think one of the most interesting parts of this merger is going to be if Snoopy and Spongebob can co-exist.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
^^Are you saying CP doesn't have enough trash cans, or are you talking about a different park?

At CP, you are never more than 20-15 feet away from a trash can at ALL TIMES.

I'd say that CP does a pretty good job with the trash management. Most of the time there isn't an issue finding a can. So no, in general the park has enough cans with maybe a few spots underserved.
I can also say that the sweeps at the point have always been on the ball as well. I know it's not a job for anyone and it can be hard to find the right self motivated people to do it.
I guess i was just making a general comment about people and trash. The thing about butts is that most people won't notice them on the ground unless there are a lot of them. And the more full the park is the less one will notice the mess that builds up. Which is fortunate because there is always a tipping point where you can't keep up with the mess no matter how many people are out there. It's an interesting dynamic, if you're into such things ;)
Oh and i agree that no park should go smoke free. Rude people are going to be rude whether or not they are smoking. And this from someone who would sweep on average over 1500 butts a day. Actually it was a lot more, but i always got bored by the time i counted to 1500 and that was usually around the lunch break half way through the afternoon.
There was a fact of Cedar Point's trash management of how much they picked up per day. Out of 3,000 trash cans per day, they pick up close to somewhere in the Millions of trash per day.
I've actually re-drawn the park map and re-made alot of the areas in the park, including the kids area and the water park, I added a Ferris Wheel :D
I've re-done some of the Coasters in my No Limits game(realisticly) and I think they look really good and would fit perfectly in the park(not being biased)
The good thing about most of the Coasters at Wonderland is that they are mostly "Catalogue" Coasters, and are very easy to rip out and be replaced by bigger and more unique Roller Coasters(B&M)
There is also a really large chunk of land beside the park, almost as big as the park, on the other side of Major Mackenzie Rd. that is the perfect place to put in a Hotel and a Camper Village type place, or Employee dorms...
If you've been to Canada's Wonderland, you would see that it pretty much sucks compared to most other parks, I hope CF can turn it around, give me a reason to buy a Season Pass...

Mr. Scott I found an interesting fact that I messed up on the other day.
Through its use of Envision tissue products that are made from 100 percent recycled fibers, including 90 percent post-consumer materials such as newspapers, office products and packing materials, Cedar Point recycled 223,717 lbs. of cardboard, 56,810 lbs. of paper, 20,160 lbs. of metal, 39,740 lbs. of glass, and 5,414 lbs. of aluminum cans in 2005.

I just noticed on the mall of america website that the park previously known as "Camp Snoopy" is now just called "The Park" at the Mall of America. Is Cedar Fair no longer operating this park?
