I wonder if the Maxx Pass will actually work at the gates at each park. For example, if I buy a Maxx Pass at Michigans Adventure will it only work at their gates, and when I go to CP I have to go thru the Guest Services Dept. to get in?
Or will the Maxx Pass scan at the gate for all the parks? Anyone know?
I would hope they have a system like that. I know Six Flags did/does because I used to have a SF pass for the same reason as I'll most likely get a Maxx Pass. One year I went to like four or five SF parks because I was traveling a lot.
I just hope Knott's has the Maxx Pass because that's the first CF park I'm going to in 2007. And, I'm guessing it will be cheaper. he he he!!
In past years, inter-park usage of your season pass required going to guest services prior to entering the park. As I am one who travels to many out of state parks a year, I would love it if they changed that. As far as I know it is still that way, because I had to do it that way at Worlds of Fun when I went to Coaster Mayhem to ride Patriot this past spring.
I e-mailed Cedar Point to clarify the Season Parking Pass as to wether or not we can get it on the Season Pass with the purchace of Joe Cool still. The way they have it written, I also think it will have to be on a car this year. Which sux because I don't always ride in the same car when I go. I like to go with friends sometimes and I have a small car that isn't comfortable for more than 2 people (including the driver).

CP needs to keep putting the parking pass on the season passes. Think about it, I may not always be in my car when I go, and I don't want to have to shell out 9 bucks each time if I don't go in my own car. I would also appreciate the two park option for GL as well, although I can sorta understand about the chain wide parking pass.

My guess is a company wide parking pass would be hard since alot of goverments have tax agreements on that item and expect money. They would have to structure in the new out of park people. How much the park will have to pay...etc. As I said only a guess!
I'm not sure I agree with that or not. You could be right, but I would think if that were the reason, they would have the same problem with having a MAXX pass. There are taxes on everything. Including admission.

Magnum Lantz - if you sell your car or your windshield breaks, you can get a new sticker.
Why not instead of peeling off the paper on the decal, just tape it on your window, then it will be easily transferable?
They place it on your windshield for you.

I really hope they will allow the parking pass on the season pass. I don't have a car, but I do have a season pass. So anytime I visit the park I have to ride with someone else, I don't know how many times I was thankful that I spent the extra $60 on the parking pass, but if they don't include it on the season pass then I won't be getting one next year :(
And it would be nice if Cedar Point would offer a shuttle onto the point. Since they don't allow bikes, hitchiking, or walking on the causeway, I have no way to get onto the point short of taking a taxi most days. Even just a shuttle from Breakers Express would be nice, just one that you don't have to be booked in the hotel to ride on.

I'm going to get a 2007 pass for sure. However, I have a few of questions.
1) If I but it this year, at some point when I'm at the park during Halloweekends will it be cheaper than buying it during the offseason or in May of 2007?
2) Am I getting the actual pass if I buy it before the 2006 season ends or am I getting a paper that says I bought one and then have to 'cash it in' for the actual pass in 2007?
Thanks.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Not allowing parking on the pass is going to stink. No longer can I tell friends 'I'll pay for parking if you drive', etc. There's many times in the past where I haven't driven my own vehicle and ridden with someone else. Parking really needs to be on the pass, even if we have to scan the pass at the tollbooths.
Or they could just altogether drop the feeling of absolute rape and offer FREE Parking. It would make things so much less complicated, and they could easily do something to make up for that lost money.
Vince,
1) Yes, if you buy it online or at the park before November 15 it will be the cheapest. After Nov 15 the prices typically go up. After January 1-15 (sometime in there) prices go up again usually.
2) You will get certificates and will have to have your pass processed. That includes going to the SP center and having your picture taken.
Speaking of which, I should probably get my picture retaken. My current one is like 5 years old as of next year.
Maybe the GL/CP Parking pass will be announced with GL season pass anouncement?

I just recieved a e-mail from cedar point about parking passes. Everybody who buys a parking
pass, will have a sticker attached to your car.
If you buy another car before the season is
over, and need another sticker, you must turn
in the old one. Also there will be no geauga
lake add on for parking.
^Ditto on the e-mail recieved.

Thats disappointing about the no GL/CP parking pass. The Maxx pass is $5 cheaper than last year's CP/GL pass though so I'm happy. I think their new pass system is a good idea.
Thrills Around the Corner!
Not being able to get the parking option on your pass is really a step backward for Cedarpoint. From the posts on here so far, I would say that this is going to be a problem for a lot of us. If you are able to drive the same vehicle to Cedarpoint every time you go, then it won't affect you, but I'm sure most of us need the convenience of being able to show up in a different car sometime between the first weekend in May and the last in October.
PKI's parking has been included on their passes in the past and I don't see anything on their site that says you have to get a decal affixed to a single vehicle like CP.
I'm thrilled about the MAXX Plus pass but the parking decal sucks. *** Edited 9/9/2006 4:14:57 PM UTC by Greg_***
Well, then, I guess the answer is to buy the Maxx Pass at Kings Island and get the parking sticker at Cedar Point. Then Geauga Lake loses my business to the $9 parking fee.
Seems rather short-sighted to me. It also bothers me that the last time I had a Cedar Point parking sticker was the year that my car was out of commission for almost the entire summer for mechanical repairs. They were nice about honoring the parking pass paperwork, but it was a major hassle.
Presumably Kings Island is still putting parking on the pass. More than one parking decal starts to get to where there is too much crap on the windshield to be legal...!
--Dave Althoff, Jr. <-- hates parking stickers
I will be doing the same as you ride man-buying the
maxx pass at kings island and recieve free parking.
Then buy the parking pass at cp and i will have to
pay the $9.00 per visit at geauga lake.
The real deal is to drive to PKD and buy your Maxx Pass for $89.95 and your parking pass where you'll visit most.
This really ticks me off that I could drive an extra 2 hours and save almost $70 off two season passes. Why would CF not keep their prices consistant throughout all their parks? If it's due to ridership, then GL's Maxx Pass better be approximately the same price as PKD's.
Grrr!
EDIT: Spoke to a GL employee in Guest Relations. GL's season pass info is out and is as follows...
Prices valid until sometime in Nov. she said.
GL Only (Adult): $69.95
(JR/SR): $49.95
Maxx Pass (Adult): $125
(JR/SR): $79.95
Maxx Pass Plus (Adult): $149.95
GL Parking Decal (placed on vehicle): $45
So, GL's season pass is less expensive than CP's which is what I expected. The rest remains the same. I think i'll make a weekend trip to PKD before the end of the season and save the cash.
