I just really dont understand the desire to be connected to the internet 24-7 when I go on vacation (even if that vacation is only a day trip to CP) that is the last thing I want to do, and if something really pressing comes up, I have Donut Time at CP. And my phone is only 2 years old, but I always go with the free phones just because to me as long as I can call and text thats really all Im looking for.
I don't understand how Internet access equates to 24/7 addiction. If I need to be that disconnected from life, I'll hike in the wilderness. :)
I miss Verizon. Of course, having an iPhone trumps any carrier. But AT&T's dropped calls and spotty coverage get old. Verizon has great EVDO coverage in Sandusky.
That's just the iPhone, Walt. It's the chipset in those phones that drops the calls.
It's been a known issue since they were released. Apple tried to help the situation once but it only made it marginally better.

^ it also has a lot to do with the fact that AT&T's network just can't handle all those iPhones using data all the time.

It has nothing to do with that as far as dropping calls.
The 3G chipset isn't what it should be is all. It has major issues when there are other compatible networks around and it can't hold calls. Using data has no affect on calls being dropped.

I have had one dropped call in the two years since the iPhone came out, and that was in Cincinnati on I-71, which has some strange "dark spots" for AT&T. That hardly qualifies as a miserable failure to me.

I've had at least 4 dropped calls this year, all in suburban Cleveland. Data speeds, number of bars, and call quality were all better when I was on Verizon. Places where I had no problems previously (for example, inside a large store or building), are now troublesome for both calls and data. I tried to send a camera phone picture on Friday from my son's school. Nothing but "Searching ..." Maybe that's the phone, I don't know.
It's certainly far from unusable, though. Whatever the small reduction is in quality, it is insignificant compared to the the gain of the iPhone.
It's still a great device, it just wasn't made with call making in mind. It's geared more towards data and texting.
I carried it for less than a week and had to go back to a Blackberry. I'll never again stray my dearest Berry.

I won't deny that Verizon has better coverage, and I hope it's true that AT&T loses its exclusivity if (when) they announce the new version of the phone this summer. Crossing my fingers for a 32 gig version too.
I disagree that it wasn't meant for calling. The contact management is the best I've seen, including against Blackberry, to say nothing of the visual voice mail. I could never go back to a regular phone, or smart phone.

I dunno, BB's contact management with its calendar integration is pretty fantastic, also to say nothing of the visual voice mail.
Yes, the Blackberry has it now also. At least my Bold does.

I'm using a Samsung Omnia on Verizon and couldn't be happier. The touch screen is not as responsive as the iPhone but it has a great camera for a cell phone, has an FM tuner that I find myself using a lot st work and runs WinMo which for me has more utility than either the Blackberry or the iPhone OS. Samsungs TouchWiz interface is pretty slick for a Windows Mobile device and mostly eliminates the need for the stylus or the mouse pad that is on the device.

Sorry Pete, anything running Windows Mobile is out for me. I had the Tilt, the Motorola Q and currently carry the Mogul for work. If the program we use was written for a Blackberry (Time Warner had it written specifically for WinMo) I'd literally toss that thing in the trash.
I've never seen devices with more freeze ups, slow responsiveness and all around poor performance than those running WinMo.

Researched for weeks on what to get, and reviews, surveys, and tests all put iPhone in its own class for what's available in the U.S. market. What I needed more than anything else was good mobile browsing, and I think few will argue that iPhone does this best as of now.
Brought over a couple Blackberry-obsessed friends to join a family plan with me (and all got iPhones), and all of us love the phone and service as ex-Verizon users. Though battery life hasn't hindered me yet, it is iPhone's biggest drawback. JD Power agrees:

I hear you Loopy, I have a couple of programs that I need that are only on WinMo, so I'm in the same boat. That said, the Omnia is very stable and is constantly on, needing a reboot only twice since I received it in December.

Well it's possible that Samsung has a platform that's actually stable enough to run it. HTC and Motorola sure haven't figured it out yet.

New blog with updates on the fountain, and an Energy center! I cringe at the thought of what it will cost to buy an energy drink. I'm guessing $6. Takers?

I'm really hoping that the new Energy Center means that the awful BlueGreen vacation club is NOT returning this year. (That covered area is where they were set up last year) The fountain is looking very nice! I'm pretty excited to see it on Friday :)

Who cares how much it costs, because it got rid of the timeshare people! That is priceless. :)
I really love the look of the pavers over bare, boring concrete. It really looks great and catches your eye. I'm really liking the cosmetic changes over the last two years, and hope they continue to happen. Personally, these changes have added much more to the atmosphere of the park than a new ride would.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
