Spinning is not the only motion that may cause sickness. For some people a mere change in the horizon in front of them is enough to cause motion sickness. Therefore, I would not be so quick to dismiss maXair as barf-proof. It will contain enough severe directional changes and moments of near upside-down weightlessness to make SOMEone sick, I'm sure.
As for Delirium, I've overheard many people standing off to the side of the ride explaining to their friends that they would not be riding that day or any other day for that matter because just watching it go makes 'em want to barf! You lucked out, Benjamin. Nineteen hundred riders, and they all knew their limits!
I'm the oldest one here. CP emp '73-'74
You have to be 52" to ride but thats all I know right now but im guessing its the same as all the other rides with over the shoulder in the park. I'm not sure it may be different. Ive been on Delirium at PKI and I know many other people that have been on it and I have not got sick and no one I know has.
Goodbye 2005 season!!!!
When I first saw the maXair seats, my impression was that they might be similar to the seats on Power Tower in who they could accommodate. They seemed more forgiving than Wicked Twister and Raptor to me.
Well for me, Delerium has never been a barf ride, so obviously, MaXair shouldn't be. But to contradict myself here, those who have pretty bad motion sickness will not enjoy the ride. My dad has pretty bad motion sickness, and in the one time he rode Delerium, he got off in horrible shape. He had to sit rest of the day and he looked bad when he got off... Other than those bad motion sickness people (aka, take dramamine for planes, and coasters), maXair shouldn't be a barf ride to most...
