New ride

As for accommodation...

The seats on Delirium are not the most comfortable in the industry, and the shoulder bar design is very strange indeed, with a lot of excess material up around the shoulders. But the ride is very accommodating, as it provides a fair amount of space for the gut.

The ride forces are such that while there is some lateral force, it is not severe, and at no time are you ever dragged outward into the shoulder bar. Upward, yes. Outward, no.

maXair should be a high-action, high-force ride, but like Millennium Force, if you can get past the size and speed, it is also a very enjoyable, and ultimately, a very approachable ride. Delirium was quite possibly the best new ride investment Kings Island has made since they built Vortex. I have no doubt that maXair is going to be a lot of fun.

You are correct sir. I used to weigh 290 and I had a 48" waste. I rode Delirium atleast 50 times over the 2004 season. I never had a time were my restraint would have to be re-checked. I was very comfortable in the ride too.

Since then, I have lost 50 pounds and I am down to a 40" waste line. I am still shooting for a 36-38" waste line, and I still have two months till my first trip to Cedar Point.

So... would it be generally O.K. to ride MaXair? I have ridden Millennium, and never had an ounce of queasiness...

Yes. maXair does not give you a dizzy feeling or that weightless feeling. Unless your just paranoid, then the feeling in just in your mind.

Delirium can cause trouble for people who are tall in the upper body. I am 6' 4" and most of my height is upper body (32" Inseam). I couldn't get the restraint on the test seat to go buckle without major strain on the shoulders. Tomb Raider seemed to have more room for taller people. I too would guess I would handle about a 48" waist. I'm now down to about a 43" waist from 50". My nearest calculations tell me I need to lose another inch in the thighs before I can ride MF.

Awesome. Maybe I'll go on it!

One thing not so comfortable is when you are seated next to someone with a lot of width in the shoulders. The seats are fairly close together and that can make for some discomfort. (The Giant Top Spin suffers from the same problem.)
