Has anyone been on a ride like this one? Would you consider this a "barf" ride?

I wouldnt consider maXair to be a barf ride because it does not spin fast enough. Chaos, however, I would not recomend to the weak of stomache.

Yes, I've been on the one at PKI. No, it's definately not a barf ride.

No, I would not consider maXair a "barf" ride. I've rode Delirium at PKI 38 times over the 2004 season, and I never once saw someone get sick on it.

maXair won't spin fast enough to give you any kind of "barf" feeling. Seeing as you have never rode one, you're in for a good time.

Spinning is not the only motion that may cause sickness. For some people a mere change in the horizon in front of them is enough to cause motion sickness. Therefore, I would not be so quick to dismiss maXair as barf-proof. It will contain enough severe directional changes and moments of near upside-down weightlessness to make SOMEone sick, I'm sure.

As for Delirium, I've overheard many people standing off to the side of the ride explaining to their friends that they would not be riding that day or any other day for that matter because just watching it go makes 'em want to barf! You lucked out, Benjamin. Nineteen hundred riders, and they all knew their limits!

Does anyone know the size restrictions for maXair? Not for me, but my brother is 6-3 250 pounds and he has been depressed ever since the MF and TTD restriction changes. It would ruin the whole day if we could not ride it together.

You have to be 52" to ride but thats all I know right now but im guessing its the same as all the other rides with over the shoulder in the park. I'm not sure it may be different. Ive been on Delirium at PKI and I know many other people that have been on it and I have not got sick and no one I know has.

Goodbye 2005 season!!!!

When I first saw the maXair seats, my impression was that they might be similar to the seats on Power Tower in who they could accommodate. They seemed more forgiving than Wicked Twister and Raptor to me.

Well for me, Delerium has never been a barf ride, so obviously, MaXair shouldn't be. But to contradict myself here, those who have pretty bad motion sickness will not enjoy the ride. My dad has pretty bad motion sickness, and in the one time he rode Delerium, he got off in horrible shape. He had to sit rest of the day and he looked bad when he got off... Other than those bad motion sickness people (aka, take dramamine for planes, and coasters), maXair shouldn't be a barf ride to most...

I've been on a ride very similar at Canada's Wonderland and if your in the right spot and you tilt your head the right way, you can see the CN Tower upside-down, very fun.

I rode the one at Kings Island and it is a blast. You guys are in for a real treat. Its takes 50 people per ride and the ride only last about 90 seconds so the capcity is high. Normaly most people are afraid to ride so this line is normaly no longer than 20 minutes.

I've been on Delirium four times and was not bothered by the motion. I would say this, though. If you can stand a spin on Chaos then maXair shouldn't be a problem for you. IMO, maXair and Delirium are the best non-coaster rides out there.

Have you seen the ACE Magnum construction pictures yet? In one the guy says "I can't imagine a coaster getting much bigger than this." Kind of the same idea.
