NEW Policy with MF seatbelts?

You can dispute a charge for virtually anything. It's a lot harder for a merchant to beat a charge back for something that is intangible.

It does appear there is one hard-ass on that crew at least. I don't know if this is the guy that bruised my wife or not, but if history is any indicator, he won't last long on that crew.

It's a shame, too, because I know most of that crew is trying as hard as they can to be sensitive under the ridiculous operating guidelines they've been forced to implement.

That crew does it's BEST, under current conditions. I found them to be courteous, and bustin' A a couple of weeks ago.

Think about how tough this situation is on THEM.

I was able to ride on opening day, only because the guy checking my seat was VERY accommodating. And I appreciate that. But based on the horror stories I've read since, I wouldn't even try.

If some ride worker tried to turn my ejection from the ride into a public spectacle, I'm not sure I could contain myself, consequences by damned.

And going to jail isn't really my idea of a good time, although I hear its OK if you're into institutional living.

well right now i would expect the ride oporators to be a little cocky, yeah i get to look lika a bad A## and toss you off of the ride. but that will change when somebody from the park catches them and takes them off the crew or fires them.

like i said the first week of oporation is no excuse for rudeness *** Edited 6/2/2004 11:03:14 PM UTC by coolfun5688***

No consistency! Got on to MF Saturday morning early and was was able to ride without incident. Stopped later that day trying to use my Freeway Pass. Got the seatbelt on in the tester seat, got over an inch of slack and was told 'sorry'.

This after riding many, many times since the week MF opened three years ago. We've been season passholders, parking, Joe Cool and the whole bit as a family of five for years. Also, longtime customers from when we were dating and attended the opening of Gemini as members of ACE.

I'm 5'7", not over 54" chest, not size 18 or over, and well under 200 pounds. But I will admit to being over weight with big butt and thighs.

We're rethinking those four days we have booked at Lighthouse Point for 4th of July period. That is no threat to CP, however, since they have had a waitlist for those properties for months.

Don't forget that if you cancel, it will cost you a $25.00 cancellation fee...

If you know for sure that you can ride, tell the person at entrance that you already rode earlier in the day when they ask you to try the test seat. That's what I did on Sunday when they asked me to try it. I know I can ride, but since I keep hearing about how the test seat is more confining than the real ride, I wasn't about to take any chances.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

If I wanted to do anything to the guy on the platform, it would have been to slug him one actually. This guy went way out of his way to be an ***hole to us,he smarted off to the women in our group, seemingly not knowing there were guys in the group because when I got up with my wife and he looked at me,he had a huge surprised look on his face.

I was so infuriated I left the platform and went to park ops,who blew me off. Then Peggy blew me off and now Kinzel sends me a form letter. They keep telling me about safety, etc, but they don't seem to understand that the treatment of our party by the ride op was the problem, not the belt thing. They both just said it was week 1 and i should understand.

The credit card company is a good idea,I hadn't thought of that.

How come you didn't go to the park office and make a complaint? I'm sure their boss probably would've said something or taken some action had you did that. Also the Cedar Point security always is walking around, you could've said something to him too. Once you take action, those guys probably won't have a job no more.

I don't know... but I've got this strange tingle at the back of my neck that says this will all explode at CoasterCon. Tons of enthusiasts all together for half a week? People denied to the big rides? Trouble.

I'm sure they've probaby heard the news, and who knows they may cancel it this year because of all the problems.
nah they wont cancel it...

from some of the behaviour of "enthusiasses" i've seen, they are arrogant to a fault and will think that the new rule should be relaxed just because THEY are in the park.

let it get ugly. then maybe it will go away and make things easier for those who are borderline....

It's going to get even worse with the seatbelts. When we were there on Tuesday, June 1st at around 9:00 o'clock, this rather large kid, whom was sitting up front, did not have his seatbelt buckled when they started to send the coaster up the lift. They had to intentionally stop it a third of the way up the hill causing about a 20 minute delay in the running of MF. My group and I were standing by the coaster operator box when this happened and the girl who missed his seatbelt got screamed at. When we asked the one operator what happened, he told us it was an operational failure not mechanical. After that incident, on the next ride, they made one lady, who was overweight but not overly large get off the ride, even though she said she rode earlier in the day. Also, the crew was much more forceful with the lapbars after this. So, with an occurence such as this, we can only expect them to make it harder for larger customers to ride this coaster.
I feel like that Intamin needs to make the seat belt just a little bit longer maybe by and inch or two that way you don't have so many disgruntled fans.
i'm sure something is going to happen with this. it is the perfect start of a human blockade of people who were not able to ride. i hope something happens before i go this year.
i think that CP needs to close MF and modify the trains then the whole mess will go away.

they by now should be used to having rides shut down seeing that top thrill dragster was down for the time it would porbably take to change the restraints on MF.

I think if someone was asked to be checked in the test seat and passed the test they should be given a stamp to certify that they are able to ride, and when they get on they should not be turned away
I think that if you are planning a trip to cedar point in advance and you are worried about fitting on the ride, then you should go on a diet before leaving. Then, you could ride without any problems. Plus, you could use your trip as extra motivation to shed those pounds.

the point of going on a vacation is to get away from everything not to have to stress over loosing a few pouds before you go.

when i go on vacation i expect all the crap just to stay away wile i have fun.

maybe it's just the way the pictures look but when i was looking at the pictures of the new belt place it looked like it would be easier to get into but maybe it was the way i was looking at the picture
