OK, that one is fixed. The problem isn't really the software, it's the fact that it's fighting a database that was created a year before POP Forums. Thanks again for your help.

OK, you're now using beta 2. I think I got all of the bugs, but you never can tell until they punch you in the face. ;) If you find bugs, do post them here!

Jeff, I don't know if it's a bug or just my computer, but on my moniter (resolution is 800x600) there is about a centimeter of necessary scrollbar at the bottom in order for me to view the entire page. Could be just me, or Netscape 4.06 (which is the browser I use). If it is the browser, is there a way I could fix it?

I tried to add a link to an external site and it changing the URL in the window it tries to open to this..

Between the end of cpplace and the http of my site, there is a lessthan symbol a p and a greater than symbol.. can't display it here without it assuming it's html..

CrystalKat: Is it on this page or all pages? I can't reproduce it in that browser.

Rob: Which browser are you using? Are you just pasting the URL in or using the URL button to generate a hyperlink?

Netscape 4.76.. typed the URL myself as I've always done.. didn't even think about using the URL button..

Jeff -- probably was just me/my computer last night doing something funky. It was on all pages, but it isn't happening now. But I'll let you know if it happens again, thanks!

I had a problem updating my account as well.  Error reads:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e21'
Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors. Check each OLE DB status value, if available. No work was done.

I had the same problem CrystalKat was having, but when I clicked on this thread, it wasn't there anymore.

I also have a problem with the new and old links I've been to. Usually when I click on a thread, it turns orange, but they hav all stayed blue. This just happened today, so I'm pretty sure it's the beta 2 version.

All my visited links have stayed blue as well, no matter what page they're on, and yes, it only began with the beta 2 version. Just a minor thing, really, but maybe a bug.

Not a bug, but rather a difference in the way IE and Netscape implement style sheets.

Unless you really have something against Microsoft (in which case you should be using a Mac), I'd strongly encourage you to use IE. The rich text editor makes italic, bold and URL's much easier to post.

...my dad would rather not have his whole hard drive and all the directories in it to look like it is in a browser window so I have to post using Netscape for now...oh well, I can live with the hard way of bold and italics.
Why don't you just install IE and turn off active desktop and web-style folders?

The search function in my browser,  IE 5.5 gave me the following error while searching :

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e14'
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'GROUP'.
/thepoint/cpplace/search.asp, line 107

Just wanted to let you know.

What did you search for? That makes a huge difference.

That doesn't have anything to do with IE. You can make Windows Explorer look however you want.

I can't mess with it because he bought it and it's his computer...so until I get mine, or if I'm at school, I can't use IE.

I also just got a pop up window advertising half.com from ebay.

Not sure if you meant to do it this way or not, but if you use the view recent topics to look at threads if the thread has more than one page (like this one) you're not given the option to go to the individual page as you are if you just go to say the general section.

Good spot. I'll have to check that. Thanks!

By the way, I applied some of the fixed in formatting replies and such in to this live forum, so the handling of quotes in particular should be a lot better through the IE rich text.
