During the camp out when I had a chance to speak with Jason (we are on a first name basis now), he indicated that they are well aware that Rapter (as well as TTD and Mantis) are in need of repainting. They are on the list for sure. He also stated that they are not sure how to paint TTD and that it might take 3 seasons for it to be complete.

I don't think Corkscrew will be removed anytime soon. It's a good beginners ride.

I also doubt Corkscrew goes anywhere in the near future. It takes up hardly any room whatsoever so not sure what they could build in place of it. That being said, so long as maintenance costs and reliability issues are good - I doubt it goes anywhere.
If they are going to be painting Mantis green, it would make sense to paint Raptor a different color. That's what happened when Maverick came out. They painted Iron Dragon's supports orange. I think purple, black and blue would look cool on Raptor.

Cedar point needs to spend more money on theming their rollercoasters because every single one of them is just pretty, colorful steel.
The park seems to being doing pretty well with their "pretty, colorful steel." Why fix what isn't broke? And how would "theming their rollercoasters [sic]" change the ride experience in any way? They'd still be the same roller coasters.
... paying $5 to look at some robotic dinos never enticed me...
Apparently it entices enough people that the park is still charging admission. Businesses tend to be fond of profitable things. Perhaps it is just you.
...so putting a legit coaster there instead would be a much better idea.
What is a "legit" coaster? Are there any coasters at Cedar Point that are not "legit"?

In the next few years I think we'll Corkscrew get a good refurb because it's a fantastic ride for beginners and holds a great bit of nostalgia and one of the last great hand built Toomers left
Fixed that for you :)
Corkscrew is a fantastic ride, if it hurts your head ride in the front of the cars. I prefer 21, press your feet into the wall in front of you and press your shoulders up into the restraint. gets you alot of good airtime on the drop and hill, smooth loops, and great corkscrews to finish before coming back. Rode it everyday basically for a season, sometimes marathoned it for the hell of it with no issues.

I am sure I am wrong but I have been having a feeling that we will be getting numerous things. One thing by the Pavilion, a Mantis overhaul, and something on the island. What I would like to see them do is get some safari jeeps and make the island into some Jurassic park style ride. But like I said, I am probably wrong and am about to give up guessing and just wait for the announcement.

Uh...Iron Dragon's supports have been painted yellow since 2004, three years before Maverick opened. And they were repainted to make it look more like Top Thrill Dragster, which had been opened the previous season.
Corkscrew is an iconic, fun ride. Given its small footprint, as long as the ride doesn't become any sort of a maintenance nightmare and enough people continue to ride it to meet whatever metrics the park is using for ridership, it will continue to be an iconic, fun ride.
(One of the factors contributing to WildCat's removal was the age of the ride was that the park had to manufacture replacement parks -- the ride manufacturer being either no longer in existence or no longer making replacement parts for older rides.)
My best case scenario: a new coaster located by BS midway to Bay/Marina area.
Worst case: Current PP area for new "(shoot em'up: Werewolves?) thrill ride aimed at teens/ hard core (GAMERS)ala Guardian and it's screens at CW. I would still take it, I guess.
What's yours??
Thinking Jason's twitter pics ARE definite clues with Monster/swamp theming (not necessarily location but NAME of ride) but the Sunrise over Raptor/old Pirate Ride bldg. (YES to that pic for approx. new construction spot).

I never mentioned when they actually painted Iron Dragon, but I'm sure they knew what Mavericks proposed color scheme was going to be when they did paint Iron Dragon. My point being, they painted ID different colors to make Maverick stand out.

Oops, I said too much. ;)
The possibilities are endless at this time, but I would agree that my hope is for a new coaster. I could also see everything from a Blue Streak Midway refurb similar to the Gemini one, to a new flat ride in that area etc...
I could definitely see Mantis getting a makeover, some new paint colors, some new themeing, changing the Que up etc... I just do not see it getting new trains and becoming anything other than a stand up coaster.
I like the updated Gemini Midway, the new lighting, sound system, paving have really transformed that area. I do think that if it doesn't happen in 2015, it will happen very soon for the BS midway.

I don't understand. If Maverick and Iron Dragon stood side by side, then different color schemes would certainly make sense. Who, well, cares if different coasters in different areas of the park have similar color schemes?

Funny that you say that, because the only reason for Iron Dragon's repainting that I've ever heard about was to match Top Thrill Dragster's color scheme (even if ID's supports are more orange than TTD's lighter, yellow supports), and both coasters are very close to one another.

Awesome because I totally agree. raptor needs to go a different color for sure. Like I said I think it makes it look a lot older than it is. There's also a lot of rust on it. You would think that they would of thought of a way to repaint the dragster when they built that, lol. (I agree. It does need repainted. The colors are so dull.)
I definitely think there'll be tons of new things coming in 2015. The park just celebrated anniversaries for a 1/4 of their rollercoasters this year. Maybe they'll all get something special? Whether new landscaping, theming, etc. the places people seem to be looking at for the new additions are: CP Pavilion, PR building, Mantis, Gatekeeper Pavilion thing inside it's walls, and the blue streak area. Relating back to earlier in this post, I think the blue streak reno is probably the most likely... It just celebrated 50 years. Something is bound to happen.
Why does Mantis need a different color scheme? It's one of the most unique and beautiful color schemes in the park. How many red (4 existing) or blue (4 existing) coasters does the park need exactly?

Again, why? The park has more than enough reds and blues, and Raptor is one of the few that stand out. The only color more fitting for a bird of prey would be brown, which wouldn't exactly be appealing on the Main Midway (nor would it be unique).
