I'd love to know why Sling Shot won't be open until June.

Was it planned that way from the beginning, with the thought that missing a few weeks of revenue is negligible? Was it a last minute addition? Were there issues getting components in time?

I think they told us that during the pointbuzz tour. So, for what ever reason, they've known for a while.

I was thinking that was the Cedars Dorms parking lot also. The neglected cracked pavement kind of lead to that guess.

I don't recall the pavement by Cedars being that bad. It's not neglected, it is actually marina parking, not cedars dorm parking.

It could be Perimeter Road near the Breakers. I don't remember it being in that condition, but the Google Street View from 2011 shows a lot of cracking. I suppose it could have gotten worse after the past few winters.

Could it be in the parking lot by the Gemini lift hill?

2014 Map is up on the site! I know the map isn't an accurate portrayal of the park but regardless, Sling Shot looks huge.

That's mostly because if they made sling shot look to scale, it'd be really hard to see.

What the hell is the point of a map that doesn't show you where anything is? I mean, sure, you can distinguish the big rides on the map, but you can see those from the midway in many cases.

I know the hard copy you get at the park has a key, but why not have that version available in PDF form? It would be nice to have a map on my phone when at the park.

They do! The CP app contains a map. But I'm a frequent park visitor so I don't really need a map while I'm there.

So, I have to install their awful, 48MB (!!!) app to find a useful map? No thanks.

And I'm a regular visitor as well, so it's rarely necessary that I need a map, except to find certain counter service locations, for example, that I never commit to memory.

My bad, I didn't read your entire post. Somehow I missed the part where you said you needed a key. I'm pretty sure the map on that app lacks one as well. I just thought you said you wanted a map on your phone.

Looking at the Gemini Cam, Monster is being reassembled, the new colors are looking good.

They are "inclosing" the structure of Pipescream. I was hoping they wouldn't do that. I like the bare bones look more then the fabric walls(for lack of a better name)

I think they have to enclose the areas without a proper fence (note that the fence doesn't enclose the entire ride).

But yeah, not sure why they don't go with something more visually appealing. That screen looks like crap.

Oh, I think those screens are going to be ok. Certainly better than looking at bare metal supports. And Monster is gonna be swell. It's been black and orange since, what, 1970?

In further webcam news, it looks like Lolly Swings' makeover into Charlie Brown's Windup is coming along, too. Looks really cute, from what I can see.
