Well, over the years, I know Cedar Fair themselves have talked about redeveloping the area along the beach as a boardwalk type area -- but when and if that will ever occur are questionable. Given the previous markings around the Blue Streak courtyard a year ago, I wouldn't at all be surprised if they have something in mind in that area.
As to the Dinosaur's don't kid yourself -- you might not like them but they make MEGA bucks for Cedar Fair -- they are owned by a company who contracts with the CF parks to operate it -- it cost CP nothing, and they split profits. You would be surprised how many people go through there every day. Remember there are a LOT of families that have zero interest in the coasters and larger rides, but they go to these attractions, and for most the upcharge is really negligible.
I do, though, miss the Paddlewheel -- that was one of the last remaining in the country, and it was a shame they removed it.
I would not be surprised, though, to find something like a modern-era observation deck to also be in the plans somewhere down the road. Space Spiral wasn't removed because they didn't want an observation deck anymore -- it was removed to make room for a larger attraction AND because it was a 50-year old completely rusted out shell.
I agree - a GCI would be a great addition!

I face-palmed myself... And I take back my previous comment - let's see the woodie! :)Well... OK... As long as you face-palmed yourself!
On a serious note, CP is in desperate need for an epic GCI twister. They could remove Gemini or Mean Streak with no hard feelings from me!
Or an Intamin El Toro type, or both. Yeah, that's it... Give us both where Mean Streak is. ... and let us watch Mean Streak burn.
Is that too much to ask?
I don't think Cedar Fair has any plans with Intamin in the near future after all the problems with STR
This is the problem now with CP. I'm not sure if they would want to go with RMC now because of the NTG incident. I also don't know if they would want to go with Intamin because of STR. I still think RMC would be a great choice because from the sounds of it, they're the last people on the list to blame about the NTG incident. It sounded like it was Six Flags fault for letting the lady go anyway, and Gerstlauer for not putting seat belts on the trains. If CF were to do the iron horse treatment with MS, I'm sure that seat belts would be put on. As for a GCI, I would love to see one in the park. Not really sure where, but it would be cool. Maybe in the place of Thunder Canyon, or the Coral Courtyard/Beach. I think a wild mouse should be put in if the park ever does a boardwalk type area.
i think for 2014 it will be a dark ride or an expansion to the blue streak midway with a few small flats rides and maybe a wild mouse coaster also with improvments to the beach.

I don't recall anyone from Cedar Fair or Cedar Point talking about a boardwalk along the beach. I'm pretty sure that was a rumor started on Pointbuzz.
There will however be big changes at the resorts so maybe a few boardwalk like elements will be included after all, but it certainly hasn't been mentioned by anyone from the park.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Monday I was at the park with my daughter. Being so busy, we spent almost 2 hours walking outside the park from Windseeker to Lighthouse, with a stroll through Breakers. In 35+ years going to Cedar Point, I've never walked along the beach. My daughter summed it up perfectly asking me why there wasn't anything along Lake Erie. It seems like such an underutilized area.
Every time we leave the park, we exit at the windseeker beach gate and walk the boardwalk back to Campers Village. From the pools to the hot tubs to TGIFridays to challenge park, you can feel the excitement of the park. But there is definitely room for more. Maybe a live DJ, carried over from Luminosity, right on the boardwalk? With an open margarita-styled bar?

Tony said on twitter that he needs help about the 2014 announcement so does that mean it will be tomorrow or in a few days

You mean like Windseeker? You know, when it's actually open... :)
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
I agree with RonAnnArbor about building a new observation deck somewhere else in the park as next year's new attraction. The park desperately needs an attraction that all park visitors can ride and it's a shame that there is not a way to take in all of the scenic landscape around the park and take pictures from high above. I'm rooting for something with an open-air feature to feel the wind in your face high above the midway. Also, it's much too soon for another coaster or even another thrill ride.
I really don't think a new observation deck is necessary. I was on Giant Wheel this week and when you're sitting at the top, you can get a good view of the whole park.
So we are going to hear about 2014 before we find out about halloweekends? Oh well.
I'm hoping for a dark ride but I am expecting upgrades throughout the park.

He said tomorrow. Oops, looking at the time, later today. Maybe I'll just have to be there.
Tony tweeted "It's clear you all want to help - but I can't choose everyone. The details on how you can be a part of it coming tomorrow. #CP2014" so how I take it is that he's releasing details on how we can help some time today.
I just got an email from cedar point saying they need an entergenetic family to help them announce there 2014 plans and details to help will be posted on there Facebook page tomorrow. So if they want a family to help, I think it will be a family attraction in 2014 so I think it will be a dark ride.
I'm just surprised Tony hasn't really given out any clues.
