New OnPoint posting.
Celebrating an attaction 17th anniversary? that would be 1993: Snake River Falls. I think they are hinting that Snake River Falls will still be there in 2010, and presumably beyond.
1.Come on you guys. it HAS to be a rollercoaster. six flags Magic Mountain is getting their 17th coaster in 2010. Cedar point HAS to keep up with the record of having the most coasters in one park. Cedar Point would never give up that record!
2.the whyte lightning and the crystal rock bottling company make it pretty darn clear that it is going to be some sort of water ride, right??
3. Cedar Point builds rollercoasters that break records. Almost all of the rollercoasters in the park have broke some sort of record. So this has to be a rollercoaster that is record breaking.
4. "Definitely NOT taking the Beemer out for a spin today. Or next year for that matter."
A Beemer is a BMW. this could be referring to B&M, which is a rollercoaster manufacturer. It says, "definitely NOT" and "or next year for that matter", which could mean it is NOT going to be made by B&M.
5. We know it's being put on millenium island right? well, there isn't much room, so this has to be some sort of small but thrilling rollercoaster.
6. Ever hear of Intamin? they made they TTD and Millenium Force. Well, Intamin has made something called an Aquatrax in another country. There are only 2 Aquatrax's around, and both are NOT in america. What is an Aquatrax you ask? it's a ROLLERCOASTER and a WATER RIDE put together. They make aquatrax's small enough and thrilling enough for where it would fit on millenium island. if it is an Aquatrax, this would break yet another record. it would break the record for being the first EVER aquatrax being built in the USA.
7. Plus, the whole whyte lightning theme fits. it could be some sort of water - rollercoaster that has a storm/lightning/thunder theme.

Good point Touchdown. Wait..................how did we get from B&M to a Beer Flume???
It obviously fits in with all the clues.
All the alcohol references. Aquatrax? Don't take the beemer out-- they don't want any drunk driving. Harnesses...check..wheels..check-- don't want anyone falling out into the beer.
and I just threw it out there to spice things up a bit. ;)
"Water will be involved." MrScott 2006
Looking at the pictures and videos of the 1 Aquatrax that has been built, I don't see anything that would make it a "water" coaster. It has more in common with Maverick then a flume. (The theory that Maverick may have begun it's design life as an Aquatrax seems plausible to me.) It's basically just a normal rollercoaster with cars themed as a log. But I supposse a little bit of theming might dupe the GP.
Personally, I am glad to see hint that SRF is staying. I would be disappointed if it went - it's the best way to stay cool on a hot day and it's just fun to watch (and kinda fun to ride).
I'm glad there are so many newbies around to explain everything. I'd be so lost otherwise.

an Aquatrax IS a water ride.
go to the intamin website.
http://www.intaminworldwide.com/iag/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=22&Itemid=32
Aquatrax is under the "water rides" category.
this comes directly from the website:
"INTAMIN once again has come up with a new and exciting ride which will set the benchmark for all future water rides which set out to thrill the park's guests. Central to this new concept is a revolutionary new vehicle which changes drastically the way that a water ride can be experienced.
The basic vehicle is designed so that the guests will sit astride the seat like on a motor cycle rather than 'inside' a boat. In this way they will feel much more a part of the ride and not just a passive spectator. Furthermore, the seating is staggered in height to allow rear passengers to look over the shoulder of their front man.
The eight passenger Aquatrax incorporates typical design elements of a roller coaster and of a water jet ski. The vehicles and its 8 passengers will be catapulted at up to 70+ km/h. The high acceleration rates create a sensational acceleration feeling, however not exceeding that which is comfortable.
As an option for winter operation, magnetic brakes can be incorporated into the vehicles and the track system, in order to be able to operate the attraction with no or low level show water, only in order to eliminate all potential problems linked to winter operations."
I'm not saying that this is what's happening, i'm just saying it's what I think is happening. I think it would be awesome to have an aquatrax, and it pretty much fits in with the clues. so it is possible, ya know
;)
If it were Aquatrax, why would they write 'Aquatrax?' on twitter among all the other false hints?

idk, i think they're trying to confuse us..
they've put a few very misleading things in their clues. like.....
"Gee, See Eye!! "
"witnessed many people enjoying the intamin settting of the park at sunset..."
"Definitely NOT taking the Beemer out for a spin today. Or next year for that matter"
"Aquatrax?"
there's 3 different manufacturer's right there. GCI, intamin, and B&M
they probably dont want to give it away to easily so they are trying to confuse us. idk
and another thing. you know that summer blast coming up on saturday and they close at midnight? i dont think that event was ever really planned out.... do you think it's possible that they came up with the summer blast as a way to announce the new ride? i mean, they have to announce it soon, before everyone figures it out and it's not a suprise anymore.
idk, thats what i think though.
^^^just because the manufacturer says its a water ride, doesn't make it so. Also, I would like to point out that the description mentions "show water". In other words, even by the manufactur's description, the water is just there for show and is not really a part of the ride.

Do you think there's a possibility that Intamin may alternate the Aquatrax to make it a "real" "water ride"?
Moving SNF to Millennium Island?

You're kidding, right?
just because the manufacturer says it's a water ride, doesn't make it so.
Wait what? So who does, then? Does the Water Ride Enthusiasts Conglomerate have a gathering on opening day to determine if a new ride is really a water ride? Or maybe CP has a beacon that they shine into the sky, calling Aqua Man into action to make that decision... :)

Do you think there's a possibility that Intamin may alternate the Aquatrax to make it a "real" "water ride"?
Could be. Possibly include element where the riders get splashed a little bit, similar to the bottom of a flume drop. However, I don't think the ride can handle actual contact with water. The water-ski like seating might be cool by itself, though. Ultimately, I just don't see Aquatrax going into that location. There is really no place to put the "show water". Presumably, the lagoon will still be used for Paddlewheel excursions. It isn't visible from the midway anyway, defeating the purpose. And SRF appears to be staying so that means most of the ride will behind rides and buildings. I think Aquatrax works better with theming as well, which wouldn't work in that location and isn't CP's M.O. I just think Aquatrax is very unlikey for this project.

1. The coaster wars are really over. It is not a big deal because quality is better than quanity. Six flags might be getting more quanity, but has not alot of quality.
4. You just figured that out! I am so stupid!;l
6. Yeah everyone has. BAD Capacity. Millenium FOrce has such a small footprint.
When I look at your posts, it makes me feel smart. Sorry!:)
Pepsi Refresh is saving one coaster at a time: http://pep.si/bTTsfc
They have been giving us clues such as aquatrax and gee see eye... what if they are using reverse psychology on us and when they say its not a B&M maby it is????
