jkoaster...not saying that you are wrong, but why would CF put two hypers in one park? Even if one of them would be a B&M. I still think if any coaster is going in here its going to be a Eurofighter.
Adam...While that would be pretty neat it basically looks like Maverick without the inversions or past 90 degree drop.

Which is why it would be a good choice. Maverick is suppose to be a "family coaster", right? Well I am one who would not consider it that. Now what Adam linked to in my opinion is more of a family coaster. No inversions to scare off the kids. I think it would be a nice addition even though I am sure the park is not getting a coaster for 2010.
It would be cool though to see another record-breaking coaster at the Point though. We'd all ride it, right?
So stoked for 2010 :]

I watched that movie from 1:10 to 1:53 for two reasons...
Ok, I see what you mean 99er. I had not thought about that before, but now that you bring that up it makes a lot of sense.

Adam - This is even better. Looks like more fun too.
How come ever year near opening day I end up clicking on a link posted on PointBuzz that brings me to that video?
Must be an inside joke...

^^ Maverick is family in the sense that the more lukewarm fans can enjoy it too. You know, the spouse or timid child that finds coasters intimidating or too intense and would never go on millenium force, but can still enjoy Maverick. The hill isn't very high and you can't see the loops from the midway. So they don't get intimidated beforehand. And they enjoy it after they get on it. This is from my own personal experience - my wife only goes on roller coasters because I'm a fanactic and my son is a scaredy cat. They went on Maverick without hesitation and loved it. That's why Maverick is a perfect addition to the CP lineup.
Plus, what makes a "family ride" is subjective. Some families will ride Maverick together, some families will ride Top Thrill Dragster together, and other families will ride "Paddlewheel Excursions" together.
Promoter of fog.
The only reason why I threw that coaster out is because it looks amazingly fun. The coolest model I think Intamin has came up with. It's like Maverick and Millennium rolled up in one. Of course I would never think to see one at CP. Though Im all for one opening somewhere here in the US.
And you cant get me with that trick John. It's like George W Bush said: "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice....you ain't gonna fool me again!":)

That's not at all what Dubya said, because he's a moron:
"Fool me once, shame on... shame on you. Fool me... you can't get fooled again."

2010 will be MF's 10th anniversary right? Do you think that has anything to do with the mystery construction?

I agree with everything else you have said, but the loops are right off the midway and are easily seen from the entrance of the ride.

Guess Charmland rides and trees are out now that it has been saved by Obama...
Oh well, I was looking forward to a new (relocated) tree.
So why are some people really hooked on the idea of an Aquatrax? It does not seem to that great of a ride to me. The one I watched video for was only intresting becuase of the themeing and buliding it ran through. It looked like it had low ride cap. and uncomfortable cars, and very little to do with water. Maybe I am just off base on this, but it looks like Maverick is a much better concept than an Aquatrax was.
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
I really liked Buzzsaw Falls at SDC, it was a pretty sweet ride. Journey to Atlantis is a great ride too, but that has more to do with the theming then anything.
Of course CP could go and pull a tipple combo, how about a dark ride, coaster with a water splash finale? Youre saying no way, only Disney/Universal would do that, well I say there is a cheaper way to do it and still give a great ride despite older cheaper theming, you need to only look at SDC's Fire in the Hole and Dollywood's Blazing Fury.

Yeah, I guess even that sounded way too smart for something GWB to say.:)
Still close enough. lol
