Did it count because it was SBNO in 2003-2007.

I agree that Mr. Kinzel does pay attention to these things, and Intimidator is a good example. However, they are good at creating marketing out of anything. It seems like the emphasis has been on "best park on the planet" for a few years now. They advertise about being the first park to break the 200, 300, and 400 ft. barriers. They hung a sign on Mean Streak a couple years ago because it was ranked well in some nonsense poll. Marketing angles are everywhere.
Also, if they are on a 5 year plan, they can't really control what any other park would add within a reasonable amount of time. If a park is guilty it would be SFMM. They proved it the year they built Scream! (2002) over a parking lot after the huge investment into X which was already having major problems.
I'd say CP is the dog and SFMM is the tail.

I completely agree that their long term plans do not change just because SFMM has gone on yet another idiotic spending spree. But I also think that the only reason that Disaster Transport (Kinzel's biggest regret next to Geauga) has not been removed, is because they would have to take a hit in the coaster count.
on face book they saw they are going over options and they will make an announcement this week we will have to wait and see i quess.
A helpful hint for followers of CP's FB & Twitter ramblings: If they posted something yesterday, its quite likely already been mentioned here and subsequently discussed/over-analyzed/complained about. If what you saw posted isn't from the last few hours, check back over the last few pages, and you'll likely find that its old news.

James - welcome to Pointbuzz. Might I point you here and here to help you get started.
As has been said, they already have decided what is being installed next season and aren't still going over options. Those options were gone over 3-5 years ago. I wouldn't at all be surprised if they were planning a flume installation for this year (or at least a range of a couple years) when they made the decision to remove WWL to install Maverick.

WHAT, NO AQUATRAX? I what am I going to do with myself? I'm completely shocked! ;-)

Why do they call it common sense, when it's so infrequently used?
^^ They haven't ruled out a beer flume yet ;)
This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!
^^You are right. But i don't know if i would want the logs to smell like piss. ;) Beer flume is not going to please me.

We have a log flume there is no way its a coaster I was bored and looking at mavericks construction, and they had footers placed in July. Although it was obvious its not a coaster, but they are gonna narrow it down to flume, and coaster.
It would only smell like piss if they used miller beer.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
^^^what on earth are you saying? What log flume do "we" have? Again, they won't be narrowing anything down. The decision was made a long time ago. We're just waiting on the announcement.

^ Obviously, This just further reinforces the flume "idea" for the non-believers. Come on Labor Day!
^ It might not be a flume. And the announcement might not be made on Labor day. If there is proof of a Log flume, I will believe it. It could be a wooden coaster because they don't take long to build.
