I'm hoping what she meant to say was "unfortunately with the exchange rate, it is a little pricey for the offerings."
I have to agree with Josh. I've stayed at the other CP resorts and enjoyed them (LHP being my favourite). I've never been to Breakers but I've booked a room for two nights in Bon Aire for Coastermania. I've read the bad reviews but there have been a few good ones. I'll just have to see it for myself. As for Breaker's Express I'd never stay there. I might as well just save myself $50 a night and stay at any other hotel that isn't on the peninsula. I have my Platinum Pass so early entry isn't a concern.
While Bon Aire isn't at the top of its class (or anywhere close for that matter), it has the cheapest rooms onPoint and the convenience can't be beat. I've walked through Breakers at night and the atmosphere is great. With the pools, the hottubs, and the arcade, I am very excited for my visit.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I do have a journalism degree but can't spell and have poor grammar. I need spell check and am also just really tired.
Yes, I do mean that with the current exchange rates the rooms are pretty pricey for me. Last summer our dollar was above the US so It was quite reasonable if we don't think about the gas prices.
Some of the rooms in Bon Aire may be ok. My one experience was just very poor. I could live with many of the issues but was VERY disapointed with the lack of hot water both at night and in the morning.
I do like the Main section as noted but had mixed experiences at LHP.
I guess we will see this summer. Just wish CP would use some funds to fix up the place a bit.
I'm going out to get some air.

So do the people who do this writing thing professionally, and their grammar/spelling/common sense is at a level far lower than yours, so don't feel too bad.
Josh - even at Coronado or the Value resorts, you have to take a bus or drive yourself to the parks. The comparision would be Breakers to Contemporary. You can walk to the park (well 1 anyway), and the prices are even the same. The problem is that Breakers charges Contemporary prices for Motel 6 service (and it doesn't have a monorail driving through it). Cedar Point resorts seem to be falling further and further behind expectations, and I used to stay at LHP fairly consistently.
Goodbye MrScott
John
Yeah, I know the bus thing is different than walking right in to the park, but then again, you still don't have to worry about driving yourself back to the room.
I know it's not a direct comparison, but price-wise, it makes the most sense. Breakers is a Victorian-era hotel, so is the Grand Floridian. Which would you rather pay $300/night for? :)

CP has adequate hotel properties. Although they could use a face lift.Therein lies the problem. For the prices they're charging, "adequate" doesn't cut it for me.
During peak season, I've seen Breakers prices running upwards of $280/night and more. I've stayed at multiple Holiday Inn express and Marriot locations, with a price tag 1/3 of that, and had better accommodations.I realize they've got a location thing going on, but so do many other parks, including the ones in Florida. For $179 - $250 a night, you can stay at Coronado Springs or one of the other moderate resorts in Disney property and feel like a king with amenities that you'd never find in Breakers or Sandcastle. Hell, even the $79/night value resorts seem like they have more to offer.
I'm not saying that I wouldn't stay at Breakers, because walking right there and into the park sure seems pretty great. I've stayed at all of the other CP resorts, save for Breakers, and I'd love to give it a go, though I just don't see it being worth the cash for what they offer.
I'll agree with you. I will use my ski resort comparison for this. Ski resorts have....epic hotel properties. They try and make more money on the rooms than they do the mountain it seems.
So CP has a long way to come with lodging. But I put CP in their own category. CP thinks it is totally cool to have rides like DT, waste of spaces like the aquatic stadium, you know the drill...the carnival dining options, do I need to go on?
Besides a few nice rides, CP is really a crap hole. All money and investment goes in to these multi-million dollar rides that keep us coming back. But not so much in to hotels or other things to round out the park.
Wait I forget...we're rounding out the park with a bunch of LED lights. That's going to round things right out....

One is Victorican-era, one is Victorian inspired.
Hard to be Victorian-era when you're built in the early 1990's (especailly since she'd been dead for almost 90 years).
Goodbye MrScott

WELLLLL........I think its unfair you bring the Grand Floridian in to this conversation.
That's like Mike Tyson fighting a preschooler now.....
I really do not like the Breakers Bon air section. It is really outdated and It also doesn't have an elevator. If you want a little better room you can stay at the Breakers Express. It is cheaper. If you don't want to drive, stay @ Breakers or Sandcastle Suites. All Cedar Point Resorts have early entry
I stayed in a room on Bon Air's second floor last summer, and had absolutely no problems with it. Sure, the wallpaper is a bit outdated, but the location/price can't be beat (compared to other CP properties, I mean).
I definitely recommend staying in the older section, as long as you plan on spending your day at the park/on the beach, and not in the hotel.
I'm staying there again in early June.

i always stay in the bon air section. it is the least cost and is closest to the magnum entrance. the poor quality doesnt bother me. the room is only a place to crash anyway.
