My 1983 Chevy Caprice only gets 9 MPG city and about 17 MPG highway, but that doesn't stop me from visiting CP about once a week. It is roughly 75 miles one way from Toledo, and it costs a butt-load of money to fill my 25 gallon tank, but CP is worth it. If I can afford it, a family looking for a good vacation can certainly afford an endeavor like CP.

"Uh, what does the cost of the gas have to do with how efficient your car is? Expensive gas doesn't mean you get fewer miles per gallon."

Think about it, if it's cheaper I can buy more gas for the same money. We're not all rich website owners here you know. So if it's cheaper, I get more gas for my $15 I have each week to put into it. Although it is warmer, and that DOES affect the efficiency. If the engine is warmer, than I generate more battery power which will cause the car to use the electric engine more often, using less gas.

Well, if you're "filling" your tank on a fixed dollar amount, then yes, lower gas prices equate to a larger range on a single trip to the pump. However, most of the time, "filling the tank" implies a set VOLUME of gas, for which the price will vary. The range on that doesn't change no matter the cost. (Weather conditions can play a factor, yes, but again that has no direct relevance to the price discussion.)

You don't even want to START on the "rich webmaster" thing. The dot.bomb environment has made it quite difficult to even break even nowadays. Those of us with sites are doing it for the love if it, and hoping we don't lose too much personal money in the process.

So basically what you're saying Fathorse, is that no matter what the cost is for gas, you only put $15 in...not do a fill up?

What happened is you said "X miles per TANK" when you should have said, "X miles per $15 fill-up" which caused the confusion Jeff (and others) had with your post...

EDIT: D'oh...beat to the punch yet again...

You might want to check the article again. There's no longer the misleading reference to slowing turnstiles.

oops, sorry about that guys. I thought I had made that clear in my first post and I didn't. I should read my own stuff. Yeah I'm a fixed dollar amount person. The car only has a 10 gallon tank, so I'm waiting for the day that I can fill it on $15 or less.
