If you bring your own air conditioner are the windows there strong enough to hold them?

As far as the on-point dorms are concerned, if you bring your own A/C, you have to put in a request to get it installed.  That costs $25.  Then it's $15 a month, I'm pretty sure.  It's well worth it.

The windows in my apartment wouldn't hold an air conditioner, they opened sideways.....

Pippy

We had a window air conditioner in Gold...and it was the best investment all summer...nothing like a hot day at the park, then coming back to a nice cold room:) If you can't get an air conditioner, BRING A FAN!! (or two or three ;) )As for bringing alot of stuff... I wouldn't recommend it...you're not really there long enough to enjoy what you have. Have fun this summer!

Would also suggest you bring a couple of towels of your own, housing will give you them but it's like drying yourself with a washcloth.  That and they have a tendency to disappear since they all look the same and you don't wanna get charged for them when you leave.  I agree very strongly about a fan (or A/C), one of the most important things you can bring.

Also if you're going to stay off point, bring some sort of lock for the lockers,,,uh i mean closets. Some people will rob you if you're not careful. My roommates in 1300 stole my aunt's alarm clock when they moved out. Those hussies....
I'm not bitter...not at all...

Yeah.. Really be careful about what you bring.. One of my roommates that got fired stole a bunch of our stuff.  She waited til she knew we were all at work and the bam she took little things that she knew we wouldn't miss until it was time to use it... And I am still bitter about it.. Oh well next season I'll be with people I know and trust.

"Excuse me, where is the entrance to Cedar Point?"

"What Ocean is that?"

The one poor guy that we worked w/ on Gemini...man what was his name, I never remembered his name, but I sure do remember his face...hehehe...*sigh*  how i miss that boy...but anyway, he had his clothes stolen, all of them.  I think it happened to him twice.  But I only remember the first time it happened.  He had all of his clothes stolen from his room because his roommate was fired and then Cedar Point said that there is nothing they can do.  So he lost it all.  But he got it replaced after fighting with his insurance company.  So no matter what you do, if they want to steal from you or get back at you, they will steal, no matter what it is. If i remember, I dont' think that they were even the same size.  If any Gemini crew memebers of 2001 (rock on the best!!!!!) remember his name, please let me know...all i have to say in closing about him...yum.

Another Q I just thought of...

What kinds of activities does the Point have for employees? The website says a little about it...but I'd kinda like an actual employee's view on them.

What kinds? How Many? How much Fun?, etc.

Well two of the big 'activities' / parties are Calypso bash and Big Bash, basically a handful of rides are open at each for employees and they have food, games, etc.  Besides those, there are ride nights for employees, usually every major ride has one or two throughout the season.  There are also trips to other parks, trips to Put-In-Bay, and I think games usually has a night that employees can play some of the games.  There is also a rec-center, which is basically just a place to play pool, lift weights, eat, watch T.V., that's about it.  Oh, couple of video games in there too.

What kind of food do they have in the caf?
In the caf...  Well, mostly the same food from the midways and restaurants from around the park but at reasonable price for employees.  60 cent cheeseburgers.  75 cent pizzas.  Generally prices like that.  They have bagels, and salads.  Most of the food isn't the best, but there are a lot of stuff that is really good.

This is my first time working at CP and I was wonder after your contract is up how many days do they give you till you have to leave your room? Also, how much time do you need to get your things together, and get your money from the bank and your last paycheck? Just asking because I need to schedule my return flight now.
These are all good pieces of advice I can't really add anything else to this list but me personally I would bring lots of excedrin but hey thats just me.BTW Free pancakes in the cafe on saturday mornings during hallowweekends WOOHOO!.

"Please Clear The Woodstock Track Area :-)"

I beleive no matter how you leave.  Fired, Quit, or end of contract, you have 24 hours to move out.  You can go to the bank after that.  It'll as long as most banks take to withdraw and close an account.  Your last paycheck and bonus money will all be mailed to you.
