More downtime: 6/13

I didn't get that impression from you I was referring to the J.O. with the attitude problem who never does anything but gripe and cry like an infant.

If you do it I don't notice you being an obnoxious you know what about it.

He's talking about me. I'm not really a SF fanboy. I enjoy all amusement park chains. I just speak reality, something you either don't understand or fail to give credit to.

PDH....just as a tip. If you really know whats going on, and it is because you work at the park, be VERY WARY of what you say on here. As a general rule, if it is something that wouldn't be put on a sign at the park for the public to read, you probably shouldnt' mention it while you are employed.

If you aren't employed by CP and just have some great hookups, then by all means, post away.

And S2K, its a message board. Speculation happens on message boards. It doesn't really hurt anything that much. You've been around long enough to be able to separate probable truth from speculation.

Goodbye MrScott

I hate Six Flags and everything about it. ;)

October 13 - Finally!

Top Thrill Dragster - 15
Millennium Force - 15

I was at Cedar Point 6/11 & 6/12, and the only time TTD was down, was while it rained, and that only closed it for about 3 hours throughout the entire two days.

They were doing an excellant job of getting those trains out of the station and over the tophat. I only saw a few rollbacks. Only two had passengers in them, the others were during testing after it had got done raining.

Ok, just so I can understand this, what exactly are we waiting for again?
A part to what?

-Adam G- The OG Dragster nut

TTD120, according to, pdhaudio83, and bholcomb, we are waiting for a part from out of the country, I guess Intamin. I just hope they get the thing running by the time we go Thurs. Also, if you look at the tower cam doesn't it look like all the trains are on the transfer track, i could be wrong, old eyes, LOL.

First trip June 23rd

You are correct. All six trains are on the storage tracks right now.

I hope you enjoy light house point! I love the veiw of the mean streak and the nice view of the frieghters as they go by also

Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.

Not only the view of Mean Streak, but the shaking of the entire cabin with the lights flickering when a train goes by! <-- that isn't a bad thing.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Lighthouse Point is just as great as the breakers, maybe better given the new construction. Being a HUGE fan of CP, but living in Boston forces me to follow KK closely because it is 5 hours closer. I don't know if you guys have been following the situation, but TTD may be waiting for the same parts KK will now be waiting for. The cause of the KK accident was the catchcar catching, then tearing, and pulling the entire liner causing significant damage to the train, launch track, and brakes. The ride is down for weeks.

I hope TTD opens soon, because I am now trying to plan a CP trip. I was at SFGA the day KK went down (arg). But I am not booking anything until TTD returns to action.

I hope you guys aren't overly optomistic.

Tom

so does anyone think that TTD is closed because six flags finally released what happened to KK? or, do you think its just a coincidence and they really are just waiting on a part to come in?

i really hope they're just waiting for a part because i'm flying in this weekend for my annual CP visit. since i've only been able to ride TTD once since it opened (it was broken all the other times), i'm really hoping its open this year.

what are everyone's thoughts on this?

btw, if you didn't see what happened to KK, its listed here: http://themeparks.about.com/od/sixflagsarticles/a/KingdaMalfuncti.htm

Tom, it really shouldn't take as long to get TTD back up and running. If it is related, they only need a fraction of the parts that KK needs. Remember, KK is waiting on new brake fins, new catchcar (probably), new trough pieces, and whatever else got ripped to shreds in the incident.

TTD should only need whatever part would prevent this from happening, not all the replacements for damages. They won't be down for weeks.

Goodbye MrScott

John

Jugga, I totally agree. I think the real issue will be if the part(s) need to be custom made? That process could take more than a couple of days, but certainly not the weeks KK will be out of commission.

Tom

At Screamscape.com they were saying that TTD was down to inspect their track and everything because of what happend in New Jersey with Kingda Ka. They also said that Kingda Ka just might not be open till AUGUST!!!!!! Yea!!!!!!!

Exaclty, why are we excited that Kingda Ka is down and will remain down for a few weeks?

I hope they get whatever happened fixed so that KK is up and running without putting people at risk. They are just lucky this happened during a test run and not with people on board. If it takes them 2 weeks, or if it takes them a year who cares as long as it is safe.

No, they are not closed to 'inspect the track'. They are still waiting on their part from the Swiss.

The crew is enjoying their time off. I have no idea any time table on when it'll be back up.

I think Screamscape is dead wrong on this one. I was one of the "lucky" ones that were on the green train that never got launched. It was actually pretty wierd. We got the sound effects, the back up prior to launch, and the christmas tree lit up and we went a total of about 2 feet. The fins never dropped and we were sitting still. Somebody came with a battery operated pack and opened up our restraints and we were walked back into the station. (all the while making sure we held onto the silver handrail for safety ;)) I waited for about 2 hours then I just gave up. Had to get some kind of food/water in me. I came back to the park later that day and the green train was still sitting where we left it and the closed signs were out. I guess I was the one who broke TTD. :)

lol! Maybe we should all start using the [sarcasm]'s from now on. It makes things a whole lot clearer for people who take things too seriously. ;)

It’ll reduce the amount of arguments as well. :P
