As many of you may already know, Dragster went down today early afternoon and will not be reopening for a couple days. The part that is necessary will more than likely not be coming from the US, so that might add to the delay.
Thankfully went the cooler went out last time, the part actually did come from the states, not Intamin.
I'll keep you updated. They didnt move the trains onto the transfer track as of 4pm either... hm.
It's really not as severe as you make it out to be. I would think it'd be up and running again within the next day or two.
I hope it IS operational by tomorrow...
I'm going thursday and Dragster's never been closed on any of my trips since 03.
And I'm not about to lose that luckly streak!!!! >:-( *** Edited 6/13/2005 10:22:58 PM UTC by TTD 120mph***

TTD120, man it has to be up be Thursday, need my Dragster fix. :{ bholcomb, try to get us the scoop on how long repairs will take. I am going down Thurs. with about 250 8th grade graduates and it would be nice to know if it will be up.

Here, I'll put it this way- there is 1% chance it will be up LATE tomorrow. The part has been ordered, but its *NOT* a part thats in the USA right now. It *may* be operational by Thursday. I am familiar with the situation.
I don't know a lot, just that it's not as serious of a problem as some of the problems in the past have been. ie: it most likely won't be down for weeks.
Edit: What he said. I think it would be safe to say that it'd be up by the weekend. *** Edited 6/13/2005 11:46:36 PM UTC by bholcomb***
If they can have it open the next day after a cable snap, I'm sure that they can have it open a day or two later if it's just a simple part that has to be replaced.
I have confidence that Monty will have it running asap. He always does. Now for Six Flags KK. That one doesn't look like it will reopen this summer. Sounds like they had metal track pieces actually penetrate through the bottom of the train.
What KK had was way more drastic than anything that has ever happend the TTD.

101 on Magnum and counting...
Could this maintanance issue be related to the SFGA situation? The timing is a bit off, but suspect given the train is finally off of KK's track.

More drastic? I think the hydraulic fluid being contaminated by metal fragements causing a 4.5 week-long shutdown of the ride for a complete engine overhaul is PRETTY DAMN drastic. I also don't recall Kingda Ka's cable fraying with riders on the ride. That's pretty drastic, don't you think?
You need to remember that we still don't know what happened to Kingda Ka so don't make statements like that.
Yeah, but these incidents happened within how long of Dragsters operation?
And KK's incident happened how long in ITS operation?
So KK's first accident, this early, IS pretty drastic considering the evidence we have so far. *** Edited 6/14/2005 3:04:08 AM UTC by TTD 120mph***

I don't know what happened but I'm pretty sure it will be up tomorrow, if not the next day.

Oh yes...Thank you fat Chris! I am getting so anxious I can barely contain myself. I'm staying at Lighthouse Point for the first time, as I usually stay at the Breakers. I hear Lighthouse Point is a good place to stay, so I am hoping for the best!

Why do SF fanboys come here and hide "in the closet" like we are too stupid to figure out what they are?
They make it so obvious with their defending SF constantly and biting everyone's head off who dares to say anything about KK.
Expect this and if you don't like it maybe you should not post here until the ride is fixed. This IS a CP fansite so what did you honestly think was going to happen?

I hope so, it was down both times I went last year, haven't riden it since 03. :{

What are you talking about? Dragster threw a Drag slick less than 3 weeks into its operation. It's pure luck it was on the right side of the train and landed on the wrong side of the track. If it had been the other side, it would have most likely injured.
Also, I was updated on my information. It sounds like pdhaudio83 is right on.
Thanks bholcomb, always nice to have 2 sources, no offence pdhaudio83 just nice to hear it from more than one person. That sucks, my Son and his buddies are gonna be bummed. :{
