I don't believe I still don't get this after almost two years, but how do MF's anti-rollbacks work? I know they are kind of pushed under using static electricity while climbing...
CP really is showing how much they care by: 1) Telling the public basically everything they can about the situation. Could you imagine people going to MM on Thursday and just finding out MF would be closed?
2) Their compensation for MF being closed. That boarding pass sounds awfully good to me...

"A broken cable on Sky Ride would result in dropped cabins, lots of injuries both on the ride and on the midway, and is not an acceptable risk.
Not to create undo worry, but "injuries" really wouldn't be the proper word to describe what would happen to the riders and spectators if the cable on the Sky Ride broke.
Hey, maybe on thursday I get to go back and work on my first ride ever THE BLUESTREAK!
See you guys all on Thrusday/Friday and hopefully you guys will get the chance to see me and ride the force sometime in the near future!

Really, if you think about it, they wouldn't need to give the guests of that day anything. Even if they are supposed to have a ride open, there could always be mechanical difficulties, but Cedar Point doesn't just say, "Sorry, MF won't be up that day...tough luck." They by far surpass anyone's expectations with this kind of treatment.

Wheres the Electricity!
Thanks for the lessons on wire rope, BTW! I've always wondered how they joined the Sky Ride cable.
I don't know the exact procedure, but I'm almost willing to bet that there is a daily inspection of the full length of the Sky Ride cable for broken strands, plus if I remember correctly, I believe there is a broken strand detector (for lack of a better term) at various points on the ride...a switch that will be tripped by a strand sticking out from the side of the cable. The Sky Ride cable is actually subject to some pretty severe forces when the cabins connect 'cause there is no way to insure that the cabins and the cable are running at the same speed. I imagine there is probably some abrasion there......but the damage is probably pretty evenly spread out along the cable.......

I admit it I was wrong it is every five years. I feel really bad. Sorry. Oh, and my source. Well i know it's probably hard to believe but, Mr. Jasper himself. Yes, it's true. I know his daughter who is in my grade. When I asked her about the cable she says,"OMG this is crazy, everything I hear about now days is about cables!"
Again I'm sorry. I'll ask my other source, where he heard it!
You win the award for pushing the most crap on GTTP.
