I can't believe people can't recognize one of the best quotes from one of the funniest movies of the last 15 years.

Its only the funniest movie of the last 15 years if that's the only comedy you've seen since '94. ;)

Here you go....
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
And when posted as a response to a completely irrational argument.
Not so much as a signature, but definitely as a response.

To me it came across as both passive aggressive (something I know a lot about ;) )and a pathetically juvenile attack on a new member who was trying to interact with the community.
:)

See, I took it as the joke it was meant to be as they had started bantering back and forth. Maybe a ;) would have helped.

Let me first say that I live in Lansing, which is about an hour and a half from the park. I frequent both Cedar Point and Michigan's Adventure for two entirely different reasons. These parks should never be compared to eachother. If you want a layed back leisurly trip to a park, go to Mich. Adv. If you want in your face thrills that will test your stamina, go to CP. I for one LOVE both parks for these reasons.
To comment on the comments about Michigan's Adventure being too crowded and cramped...Back when the park's midways were designed, they never anticipated that it would grow to the attendance it is seeing today. It's true that the midways and some rides do not have adequate capacity on those summer Saturdays, however, Cedar Fair is addressing that with the cut-though they constructed 2 years ago from the Mad Mouse to the Swings, and if they put the rumored midway in behind Wolverine Wildcat, things will start to flow better than they are now.
Also, alot of people give Michigan's Adventure a bad rap when compared to the rest of the Cedar Fair family, however, I believe that this park is the only one that's continued to see positive growth and attendance records ever since Cedar Fair took it over. Cedar Fair would be silly to lose this one.
Go Michigan's Adventure...here's to a bright future!
I am headed there this week. It is in the plan for the midway between thunderhawk and ST. I would say there is only about 1000 feet that needs to be paved. When TH was put in they laid the ground work for the path and it is partially paved up till Wolverine wildcat. Cp should get a falling star as a flat!
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
Don't they already have one, or was it taken out (its been year or two since I've made it up there)?

Regarding the midway expansion, how are they going to route it? Will they need to adjust the RR? It didn't seem as though there was a wealth of usable space between WW and the RR tracks.

Any word if anything new going in for MA next year?
Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs
Dj, I think it takes more effort to pick up and adjust the train under my Christmas tree that to re-route the one at Michigan's adventure. I don't think that'll be a problem.

That's true, but the layout is already wonky. Perhaps they'll use this opportunity to create an all new route?
Brandon
At least it has 2 stations now. I always thought it was kinda stupid to have 1 station for a train ride.

I thought the train ride was hilarious and went on it twice just to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Far from scenic, it's a laughable trip through the weeds. Certainly no CP&LERR. However, it's also a way for people to get from one end of the cee-ment pond to the other without that long walk, and a lot of people use it.
Don't forget, Cedar Fair is happy to build railroad crossings for us to walk over. Cedar Point has three, and while they need to be constantly manned, they provide the train with a more interesting route than strictly perimeter.
When I was there I could see room for a midway, or Frontier Trail type of experience right through those weeds linking the far ends of the park, encircled by the railroad. It would certainly add better atmosphere, complete the park circle, and provide the shopping, craft, and dining options that I thought the park lacked.
One success there, IMO, is Grand Rapids. While I didn't ride it, I thought it looked good from the street, the riders were soaked, and there was a great spectator opportunity. (For those that don't know, right off the bat there's a big rock that the rafts circle, and on the midway side there's a great, drenching waterfall that I could've watched all day.) I could easily envision the midway continuing past that dead end right along side the Grand Rapids, tying the ride further into a rustic (or prairie?) setting.
I'm the oldest one here. CP emp '73-'74
The thing I find amazing about all of this is that someone who posts on an amusement forum page actually went to an amusement park on a hot Saturday.
