MI Adventure is Cedar Point's ugly step-sister

Sorry, Lila. The reason that I said you were crabby is because you sound crabby. On and on and on crabby, in fact. Of course you're entitled to your opinion, I'm entitled to mine, and the good folks in Indiana are entitled to their's as well. But if you expect the rest of us to stand behind you and rant against this park, well, we won't.

My suggestion to you, now that you've made your point, is to stay as far away from MiAdv as you possibly can. Only visit Cedar Point, the pretty sister, where you are happiest. And when you are there amongst that huge crowd, find the folks that are visiting from western Indiana and assure them that they have made the right choice, even though it was further and more expensive for them.

I know that MA is small compared to many parks, but I know that small parks are fun too! I miss having the chance to go to Geauga Lake and Cedar Point! I loved both because they were different! i Hope for the best for MA and that maybe I will have the chance to see the park for myself!

Were lucky in michigan to have MiAdv,its a great place to get away for the day,and yes its small, but its here, and its an amusement park,i live 1 hour away from it,yes i agree its no Cedar Point, but its great for us coaster people who live here,to get away for a great day of fun.I have a CP Platinum pass, ive had no trouble getting in the park getting in for free is the best part.

Wow....... Um i don't know what to say here. I was there on Thursday this past week. My wife and i took our two young (3-5Year Old) boys. It was a busy day to say the least. We too are platinum pass holders and had no problem, although i have been there many times so i know how their processing goes. The only problem that i have with the park is that the water park is to small for the amount of people that visit on any giving day.

I do need to say that I don't like how everyone has to compare all the Cedar Fair parks to Cedar Point. If every one of their parks were like Cedar Point it would be boring.

Lila, when it comes to water parks in Northern Indiana, it pretty slim pickings. Yes people from Indiana do make the trip to Michigan Adventure and Yes for the water park. Heck Indiana beach is "water" parks is a peice of crude compared to Michigan Adventure. Michigan Adventure puts Soak City to shame. There is some very good speculation with the attendance and profitablity of the park this year and last year that for 2010 it will see a new flat or Power tower along a new trail between ST and Thundehawk plus potentially a new water coaster there as well. 4 Years ago MA got a Height variance ordinace so improvement can reach a hieght of 250 feet high. MA will continue to grow and improve. MA is in the family and honsetly its not the ugly step sister its acutally the quiet child that is doing well.Plus we never hear MA pouting and yelling "Marsha! Marsha! Marsha! why is always about Marsha!"( i know marsha is not jan's stepsister.)

Actually, most people in northern IN,myself included, go to Splash Down Dunes (in Chesterton) and Deep River (in Hobart/Valporaiso/Merrillville area). If we want a smaller amusement park to visit along with a waterpark, that's when IB comes in handy. For the big parks, it's SFGA, CP, and KI. I've always wanted to visit MA,though, just for that long woodie they have!

Yeah, it took my a bit to explain what I went through with the ticket thing. I went "on and on" because the situation went on and on. It is really just my opinion, and frankly I'm sick of arguing about it. I don't HATE MA at all. I think it's great what CF has done with it and I hope it continues to grow but there if definitely room for improvement, in many areas. I actually have had other problems in previous years that I didn't even bring up because then I REALLY would have been going on and on. Plus, it's just an opinion! Just a re-cap of what happened to me, it didn't ruin my day, or make me hate MA, we actually found parts of it amusing being the perfect storm of bad-luck that is was! That being said I do still believe there are improvements that can be made, and feel that anyone in my situation would have had moments of frustration without being considered nit-picky or crabby. Also, I won't have to assure anyone from IN that they've made the right choice choosing CP over MA they'll know that from the moment they walk in the park. Which give me a little credit here....is hard for me to say...I AM from MI after-all and I'm basically putting down in words that there might be something just a teensy weensy bit cool about Ohio. It's been fun arguing with you guys but it's been a long day, I'm tired, and this topic is getting old. If you love Michigan's Adventure so much, why don't you marry it?
Yeah I said it.

listen, i'm not being at all serious here are you? i'm not trying to any enemies and have nothing against you, your entitled to your opinion. i'd much rather be friendly and pick your brain about CP's next ride than argue about MA anymore.

i really don't see what's so insane or incoherent about my last response but we can leave it at that. i just don't understand why you are going out of your way to be down-right nasty to me b/c i have a difference in opinion about an amusement park in mi.

I hate to interrupt the insults and name calling, but I'd like to post something relevant to the topic.

I haven't been to MIA since 2002, but I thought it was a nice little park when I was there. I knew it was a pretty small park before going, so I guess I didn't have hyped up expectations of the place. A guy I work with went to MIA a few weeks ago, partially off my recommendation and partially because he wanted to spend a day in that area anyway. He wasn't impressed with the park in the least, but his complaints were mostly about high prices, not having enough to do (he doesn't ride things more than once) and Shivering Timbers beating the crap out of him, which is unfortunate because that ride was silky smooth in 02.

Anyway, one thing he did not complain about, and actually complimented was how easy it was to get in with his Platinum Pass. He said there was a big sign showing where he should go. He went there, they handed him tickets, he entered the park. Sounds easy enough to me. Not as easy as scanning your pass at the gate, but not inconvenient enough to warrant complaining about it, in my opinion.

Its because each and every one of his views on everything is right & true, and because you're different, you're beneath him. Obviously. ;)

Also, in all seriousness, here's a couple tips. First, try breaking up your posts into multiple paragraphs, rather than one - its nearly impossible to follow what you're saying when its a big ass wall of text (I, for one, don't even try to read posts like that). Also, correct spelling, proper punctuation and the like are all valued commodities around here. Use them. :)
