I know Tony will probably slam me for this but...
IMHO there are plenty of coasters out there that are better than MF. The only thing (as far as I am concerned) that MF has going for it is it's 1st hill. After that (to me) it is a bunch of turns and 3 more things of airtime. As CP steel coasters go, Maggie and Raptor pull a better punch every time, not to mention you're (usually) not in line for hours.
I am curious to know how many pro-MF posts here came from people who have ridden their fair share of coasters, or have been to more than 1 or 2 parks. As for the polls, someone here said they are never fair, very true.
As you all know (or don't) I am a devoted CP/Raptor fan. However, the best steel coaster to me is Nitro at SFGrtADv. It has the height, speed and SUBSTANCE that I feel makes a great coaster.
*gasp* Raptor Jo dared mention another park and coaster! ;)
I still love ya Tony!! That's just my personal opinion!

Lifetime Raptor flights: 1077 :)
Lifetime Nitro rides: 10 :)
It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?
hey lovraptor thats why millennium force was rated #1 steel coaster on the plantet and raptor was rated #11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good point, Jo. There are a lot of different parks, but mostly everyone would still have to agree that MF is one of the best. I love the raptor too, considering it was my first loop coaster! :D Pretty much all of CP's rollercoasters are awesome. Period. But since I, and probably a lot of others, haven't gotten a chance to go to other parks. Me for one because I am still 14... but I know that no matter what, MF and just CP in general will always be my favorite rollercoaster and amusment park.
=D

Raquel + Cedar Point = one HELL of a time! :D
And also- don't be afraid of the drop. Enjoy that thrill and rush of being alive baby!
No.
MF is no better than the third best ride at CP. Magnum and Raptor are both better rides. And they are a lot less frustrating to wait in line for! :) I seriously get irritated waiting for MF now because I know that back in '01, that ride was run the way it was supposed to be.

No.
I would have to say that the only people who think MF is better than Magnum have never ridden Magnum in a full train without trims. Magnum is the much crazier ride when this is the case...especially during night rides.
MF's springs on their trains seemed a bit loose the last time I rode so there was some shuffling during the ride, which made it less than glass-smooth. Maybe if they keep letting the ride go like that people will start to complain about its "roughness" too...
Anyone complaining about the "roughness" present on Magnum wouldn't know the perfection of intensity if it hit them in the face...

POINT. SET. MATCH.
Magnum is a great ride and I very much enjoy riding it. I even had the chance to ride it fully loaded with dry 90 deg. air as well as the somewhat cooler night time, both with the trims off. Much more of an intense ride than Millennium Force.
The difference is that Magnum simply does not get me as excited as Millennium Force therefore I consider the later to be the better ride.
I always wondered why one day the Magnum was really rough from that day on.. now I know.
But the Magnum is still a bumpier ride than MF is. MF is much smoother... or if it like how Matt put it.
Either way, I like all rides at Cedar Point. Yay! I am going there in like a month for a Choral Trip... it's gonna be awesome. :)

CP Bound, I was joking when I told you to get out. It's a matter of opinion, and arguing about it like this here is silly and rediculous, and won't get us anywhere.
2005/2006: Cedar Point - Millennium Force
2007/2008/2009: Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom - Tomorrowland Speedway
2008: Hard Rock Park - Maximum RPM! Opening Supervisor
2008/2009: Universal Orlando - Men in Black: Alien Attack Team Leader, Guest Services Coordinator
I have ridden around 150 (147, I believe) coasters in the U.S., so I consider myself to be farily well informed on the matter at hand. In my mind, I consider them to be equals to an extent. Millennium offers the newer, smooth feel, while Magnum offers the seemingly out of control, airtime after almost every hill intensity that I crave. In the end, however, I think that Magnum pulls just slightly ahead in my mind in terms of intensity and overall experience.

well here we goooo....
Allow me to start with the greatest coaster ever created
My post might not make perfect sense here, since I've been riding magnum for only 1 year, same as MF. I hear Magnum was a better ride in it's prime back in '89, but even when I ride it now its amazing. I love the out of control feeling you get when your in the first tunnel. Youve all been spoiled with your smooth glass tracks ever since CP introduced Raptor, and you have forgotten what real intensity was. Millennium force has 3 intensity points, all while gonig down each of it's hills. Magnum's intensity is fast, wild, and plentifull. Sometimes it even hits you by surprise. I had no clue there was a 3rd hill when I first rode her, and that scared me half to death.
Roughness...A bit, but you have to expect it out of a 16 year old coaster. You also should respect a 16 year old coaster that if wasnt constructed, you wouldn't have MF.
The first drop on MF is the best part pretty much. Little airtime here and there and good continious speed thorughout the ride. It seems to go too quickly. In my opinion, the ride was designed geniously, but not as good as Magnum. Toomer's idea with the bunny hops was brilliant. I've made my points here.
Now a quick question...
Whenever do you guys get trimless rides on Magnum? Does the wind have factors on it?
