I don't know how much they spend every year on maintanence for it, but from what I've heard, it sounds like quite a bit. Between water costs, maint. empl. wages, wood, etc, etc. It might actually save them money in the long run if they removed it. It is a beautiful structure and I always take ride on it when I'm at the park, but is it really worth all the hassle? I don't know, it's just a thought.
i think the brakes before the helix on magnum are a good idea, the trip through it is allready pretty rough and fast, and you come ripping out of the end of it into the humps. i dont even notice any speed difference either, i just hear them.

Me: That's cool, I think I have two cents.
Host: I better not take it, by the time you leave here its all you'll have.
The ride last night without the trims was awesome because we actually got nice laterals in the first 3 turns, and we got a few spots of airtime. Having the lights off was an extra bonus too.

The Matrix: Reloaded!
Seriously though, when a park claims that they are using brakes to save on maintenance costs it isn't just an excuse. Costs add up quickly as neither skilled workers nor parts for rides come cheaply.
As for employee ride night...you must have gotten lucky because when we (snook) our front-seat ride the trims were definitely on.

Eat your words.
"All the people back it up like its going to happen..."
So, tell me then, how can you back up your statement that the park will not do any of those things? Do you work at Cedar Point? Are you neighbors with the Planning and Design crew?
I thought not.

Back to the topic at hand, Cedar Point can go either way, but you have to look at the long run, is it really worth it to continue to invest millions into maintenance of the ride year after year??
