Since CP claims to listen to their "audience", IMHO Mean Streak should be the next to go. And I don't think too many of you would disagree with me. I rarely see anyone mention anything positive about it. But I wouldn't mind a giant woody as it's replacement either. Just time to send that ride to the graveyard!
I'm too sexy for my harness!
To those of us who enjoy woodies, yes. All 17 coasters in the park don't have to appeal to every single guest. If I don't like a ride, I simply don't ride it. What I've never fully understood is why people feel the need to complain about every single ride they don't like. If you don't like it, don't ride it. Believe it or not, there are a great number of people who do enjoy wooden coasters, and, yes, some of us still enjoy Mean Streak.

I'm curious to see how much that holds true in the RMC era. I know that for a lot of folks (myself included), some of the appeal of wood coasters is the structure itself, and how that provides tons of opportunity for "close calls" as the track weaves in and around itself. That can be accomplished with RMC, without the same required maintenance costs for the park and roughness that may deter guests. Surely there's still a place for wood coasters, but multiple wood coasters? It'll be interesting to see whether or not parks can justify the high costs now that there are alternatives such as RMC.
Regarding Mean Streak, it doesn't poll remotely high enough to suggest that it's an objectively "good" or popular coaster. Sure, when the park is mobbed, the ride has a substantial line. But that's also true of literally every ride, attraction, food stall, and sometimes restrooms throughout the park.

I personally love the Mean Streak, especially at night. Yes it is rough as many woodies are, but if you know how to ride it that helps. It is not a coaster that you raise your hands and allow yourself to be thrown around.
There were several times last summer that MS was a 30 minute wait. I was at CP a lot though, so I got a lot of opportunity to see the lines and talk to other riders.
IMO, it is not any more painful than Magnum, and I love Magnum as well. To each their own though. In Dick Kinzel's bio, even he said he could only ride MS once in a day. :-)

While I do not know what the park will do with Mean Streak I think it safe to say that its days are numbered. Many like to bring up the "anecdotal" evidence of ride wait times but I think the past several years of projects at CP have shown that anecdotal evidence to have some merit based upon the rides that have been removed/updated.
MS is off by itself but that didn't stop enough people from finding it back in the 90's to create 2 hour waits in a sweltering shadeless, breezeless que. A large coaster like MS should be the draw to pull people into an area like that, however in the case of MS these days I think it actually keeps them away. I understand there are many that like MS, but it is quite obvious the vast majority of park goers do not.

Still, coaster enthusiasts are not the park's audience; we're a very small -- very small -- portion of the park's audience.
They do pay attention to their customers. One consideration in the decision to add GateKeeper was that a surprisingly large number of the park's guests didn't realize there was a beach.
I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.
CP could easily have 2 great, but completely different wood coaster experiences. With BS they have the traditional out and back. With MS you get the more complex/interesting layout and I think if they de-trimed and reprofiled some portions of the ride it would help out a lot.
