It's still 100% subjective though. Folks with different preferences and priorities may find Magic Mountain to be the coaster capital of their world. Or a fan of history and historical wooden coasters may decide Kennywood is their coaster capital. You give yourself the fancy title, but it's still anyone's personal decision as to whether or not they feel it to be true.
Personally, I loved Mantis. It was my 3rd favorite coaster at CP. Most didn't agree with my sentiment for the ride, and that's ok. But I loved it and was sad to see it go. (and yes, for the record, I think Rougarou is fantastic)
Likewise, I would hate to see Mean Streak materially changed with the exception of possibly retracking. There are people that do indeed still like to ride it.

Unless you and those multiple people are spending your entire day in the park monitoring Mean Streak's ridership -- yes, it is anecdotal. And as I noted, rides don't have to be "popular" -- they just have to meet the numbers the company has set for that ride. Whether they open "as soon as possible" is beside the point.

Nope. "Roller coaster capital of the world" is a subjective claim, just like official slithernoggin of Great America. There's no objective metric to prove the point.
I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.
There is a definite pattern of MS not opening at all on certain days, opening a few weeks into the season, closing early on certain days etc...
Many people noticed for a long period of time that Mantis hardly ever had a wait, only ran a few trains, and dispatched trains nearly empty. Cedar Point in the end, stated what many already knew - folks vote with their feet and Mantis was not popular.
Folks are also voting with their feet when it comes to Mean Streak and those feet certainly aren't riding it. Of course CP will keep the ride until they have a plan in place for the space it sits on. However, I think the writing is on the wall to anyone who cares to read it. Mean Streaks days are short. Tear down, refurb, re-track, RMC'd or Run DMC'd... I have no idea which one or exactly when, but I think it will be soon.

That's true, but the new CEO has mentioned finding each park's unique identity and building and marketing toward that identity. For CP, that's the identity he mentioned. And so far he's shown that he's serious about pursuing the identity strategy.

No argument there.
Bear in mind that Mean Streak sits on an out of the way plot of land with (thanks to the CP & LE railroad) somewhat limited access. I just don't think it's going to go away until Cedar Fair wants to use that space for another ride or attraction or for off-stage operations.

From Autumn 2015, sorry I couldn't resist.
We stay at lighthouse point for a week at a time in June/July, where you can clearly see mean streak.
At those times of summer, It usually starts runs in the morning and with all three trains running by afternoon. Most trains are more than half full and often are completely loaded.

Honestly, you could say the same thing for Blue Streak, Corkscrew, or Mine Ride. Heck, even Gemini has days when it's a walk-on all day long. What a shock that newer, bigger coasters tend to pull down the ridership on the older ones. Personally, I'd vote for tearing down Mine Ride and putting something different there. It's much more of a prime real estate spot in the park, and I find it to be much more uncomfortable and unenjoyable than Mean Streak.
BTW, Mean Streak was open on opening weekend last year.

If they RMC'd Mean Streak (or built a modern half-decent woodie), that out of the way plot of land would suddenly become the most populated plot of land on the park's property. Of course, I would also assume they would jazz up the area much like they did for Valravn and Gatekeeper.
You talk about prime real-estate, it only feels out of the way because that plot of land is not being used to its full potential. You have a train station right there, Maverick right next door, and you're sitting in the only themed area of the whole park. And the lake-front view? I'm not sure how much more prime you can get.It only feels out of the way because no one is going back there to ride Mean Streak, either.
It sure felt like prime real-estate when the line was 3 hours long. The ride is the problem. The shame of the whole situation is that there is such a giant turd sitting on such prime real-estate.
Here, though, is why I am hopeful. Ouimet (and McClure, I would assume) have done a great job of turd-removal. Disaster Transport? Wiped and flushed. Shoot the Rapids? Down the hole! Mantis? Sayonara.
I have full faith that the biggest turd left in the park will be either removed or converted in the very near future.

Until you provide evidence that MS is popular then you cannot just dismiss every other observation. Similar observation were made about Mantis before the transformation and about DIsaster Transport.
Since you can't seem to figure it out I will provide you with the metric for Cedar Point's slogan.
Proof that Cedar Point's slogan is not subjective:
Proof that Noggin's Slogan is just as subjective

Photoshopped nonsense!
In all seriousness though, I bet area chiropractors were happy.
Actually it IS all subjective. You have given the criteria as to why YOU feel CP is the coaster capital. I gave some criteria as to why others may choose another location.
Why do you have to go so far to prove you are right and we are all wrong?

Proof that Cedar Point's slogan is not subjective:
- Once held the record for most coasters in one park (still pretty close)
- Has 4 steel coasters that were once the tallest and fastest in the world (Gemini, Magnum, MF, TTD)
- First coasters to reach 200, 300, and 400 foot marks.
- An obvious push towards building coasters since the 1980s
- Home to MS (unfortunately) which was the tallest and fastest when built.
- Every other coaster holds or did held multiple Records.
- Every year multipule Coasters are rated high (I am going to assume those are also subjective to you as well) such as Magnum, Raptor, TTD, and ofcourse the #1 MF.
Proof that Noggin's Slogan is just as subjective
- None (you have given no points as to how)
- Ignorance
- your consistency to disagree with anyone's point because you seem to be a troll who disagrees with every little thing just to get a rise out of people.
Noggin is correct, it's a subjective slogan, there is some basis to claim, however many others could make the same claim if it wasn't copyrighted.
Going by your points: New York can claim the Skyscraper Capital of the World- which it clearly is not.
There are many examples where the slogan is subjective: Disney- Happiest Place on Earth, Carowinds- Thrill Capital of the South, and almost every state has a city that claims to be the World's Home of the Hamburger... etc..
