I'm new to Cedar Point this year and i'll be working on the Mean Streak. Does anyone have any stories/input into working on the Mean Streak? It sounds like fun and I'm just wondering what it will be like.
Hire a good chiropractor at the end of the summer... ;-) That is, if you test ride frequently...

Thanks for the advice but I think I'll be able to handle it! It wasn't that bad for all the times I rode it. It will be great to work on such a monster of a coaster!
You have an awesome TL over there this year, and some really great people on your crews. Just get used to walking like you're a foot tall.
YES... But you have to do that on every coaster but WT, TTD, Mforce.. its called a lift walk.... I have pics from my liftwalk on MeanStreak.. its kinda fun... it just keeps going.
Here are two pics
(she is a good ride, just get your pulling arm ready, those hooks come in handy)
Here is one more..
Its good exercise anyways..
WWL (RIP)
Well you need 6 people (at a min, 4 checking lap bars, 1 controls, 1 entrance) its also common ot have a person at Crowd, then a person on break..
as for the crew size , it changes all the time, I was only on MS for two weekends.
so does it altertnate? like one day the guy at controls will be working the entrance the next day and vice versa?

I think that is how it went... I forgot how you rotate to Entrance, There were ride prides when I was there... we did not do entrance.
Ok, that drawing helps. Was it fun to work on the Mean Streak? Since it's in the back of the park, did a lot of guest ride on it? And how are the supervisors?
YOUR SUPERVISORS ARE THE TWO MOST AWESOMEST PEOPLE AROUND! JOY IS JUST AWESOME AND SO IS JOHN..
In the weeknds, we had to open a few of the waiting lines, about a 45minute way at times... so yea she can still get busy.. as for fun to work... just as fun as any other ride.. you will be helping guests buckle seat belts... but the good part, is you are there in the fall, you dont have to sandbag, Ride Maint does it for Meanstreak for some reason.
Where did you live at while working at Cedar Point? I'm pretty much set on living at the Cedars. I figure that the park is right next door and i'll never be late for work. Is this wise?
I lived in Commons, I was late once or twice.. I would be careful about cedars, if you live there, you will learn the term "Power Shower(hour)" Ive said to much.. gotta leave some of it to surprise, but there is no "Curb Club" in cedars.. Commons is great, (Im not living in housing this year) but if I wer it would be 1400's (Commons Dorms) *** Edited 4/11/2006 7:36:14 PM UTC by wwrgsww***
