maXair shutdown?

Last night all the lights were off at maXair and today no one is in line or around it. Does anyone know what happened?

If it is then they've got both the webcams pointed at the 2 rides that are shut down, haha.

2005/2006: Cedar Point - Millennium Force
2007/2008/2009: Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom - Tomorrowland Speedway
2008: Hard Rock Park - Maximum RPM! Opening Supervisor
2008/2009: Universal Orlando - Men in Black: Alien Attack Team Leader, Guest Services Coordinator

I just got back from Cedar Point. There were signs by the gate saying that the ride won't be open today.

I'd be interested to see what kind of problems they are having with it.

OMG, I give it 10 years and they'll say goodbye to maXair. This ride was down more than TTD whenever I went to the park.

We won't be seeing anymore rides from HUSS anymore. Wonder if they're paying for the parts, or does CP have to. If so they're probably losing money. They can't afford that.

What do you say TTD120mph? "the future of maXair". :) *** Edited 10/23/2005 2:38:10 AM UTC by Gomez***

I've made about 25 trips so far this year, and only saw it down once for about a half hour...

Yeah! what a waste of money it was. How dare it be down for such short amounts of time!!! Im mad, I hate it now!!!

lol, I'm just kidding:). It was only down for short periods during 3 of my 7 visits this year.

When I asked a park op what the problem was today, she said that yesterday during test runs that it "blew a fuse." Then I asked when it would reopen and she wasn't sure, but said it should be running for sure by next weekend.

This breakdown isn't that big of a deal. I mean come on, Earlier this season Wicked Twister was down for like a month because something in the electrical room blew out and they had to order a part for it. MaXair has only broken down a few times compared to that. As far as ride operation, MaXair runs so much better then Top Thrill Dragster. You guys are taking this breakdown like its closed the rest of the season. There is still one more weekend left in operation after this weekend passes.

Well... next year they will have another ride that is almost exactly the same. So if one is closed you will be able to ride the other. :)

During the Giant Wheel's first season it spent almost as much time down as up. Mostly due to the fact that it was a type of drive system not seen on amsuement rides at that time, and the fact the maintenance manuals were all in technical German, which nobody could read.

I have been to CP almost every Friday night this whole season, and I've never seen maXair down mechanical. Down weather, yes, but not mechanical. So, Gomez, I think you have bad luck.

maXair had NO down time the 6 days I was there.

I have been to the park about 25 times this summer and I never saw MaXair Down. Gomez I do think you have bad luck.

Bad luck...are you kidding. If read my statement, TTD was open more than maXair was. That's very good luck.

I wasn't in the park today, but there was a sign at the gate that said maXair was closed today.
