Now i am confused about this, when you go around the pond and the water shoots off or whatever do you like get soaked?..or like get barely wet?..Thanks.

You will have to wait till someone rides it to find out. The only people that know will not tell us yet.

Judging by how far from the track the "cannons" are located, I doubt you'll even get a mist. It's most likely just for effect - mainly for the people standing on the midway.
^..So it will get the people on the midway wet?..is that what your saying

No. Water shooting straight up into the air is a visual way of adding interest to a coaster from the midway. If you're walking across the bridge, a coaster flies by and water shoots up into the air, it's going to grab your attention. I think it's a great idea. I love the direction CP is taking with involving the midway in their newest coasters.
Take a look at this photo to see where the cannons are located in relation to the track and midway.
I'm guessing it will be similar to the cannons at the base of Incredible Hulk's first drop.

Basically, they're some effects that will be cool for a year or two until they break and CP neglects to fix them, similar to effects on a certain indoor ride. I think it's called Avalanche Run. ;)
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Unfortunently that usually is the fate of most of the effects that they put in.
Theming and effects are just a bonus the greatest thing about Maverick is the ride itself which doesn't rely on anything, but state-of-the-art LSM motors GULP. :)

Or like smoke in a certain tunnel?
2005/2006: Cedar Point - Millennium Force
2007/2008/2009: Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom - Tomorrowland Speedway
2008: Hard Rock Park - Maximum RPM! Opening Supervisor
2008/2009: Universal Orlando - Men in Black: Alien Attack Team Leader, Guest Services Coordinator
Or smoke coming up underneith a train.
Or some random voice saying "I'm losing control... I'm losing control..."
Or two spotlights shining up on a big goldish-yellow tower.
The list goes on and on.
But if you want great theming, you'll have to go to Orlando, FL. Cedar Point is an amusement park with great roller coasters.

You know, that smoke was on all day Wednesday. First time I'd seen it in years. They also had some of the special effects lighting in that tunnel turned on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was very unexpected.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
They had the lights on in Magnum's tunnels? Whoa!!! I don't think I've seen those in like a decade.
Edit because I can't proofread. *** Edited 5/25/2007 1:42:25 AM UTC by halltd***

Lights? Magnum? Tunnel? I had no idea they even existed.
I have a feeling that if Maverick's water element would get people wet, they'd have to advertise it differently, as a water ride. In which case it would have to have more than one element like that. Probably just an effect, or part of a series of effects. Maybe the whole ride is supposed to play out a story, the water could try to imitate being shot at. Kind of like the cannons on Pirates of the Caribbean, but bigger. Though cowboys didn't use cannons so much...
