Maverick Tunnel Themeing

^sweet! because when i went June 7 the fog wasn't working and i was kinda mad but i'm going again in August maybe sooner soo hopefully they get the fog working non-stop!

Rode two time on Saturday and no mist both times.. the lighting is awesome at night

I'm glad someone was able to get that question in as I had my hand up to ask the very same question. The mist was working for the Red Cross rides, so I'm glad I was able to experience it, and I'm looking forward to it again. It really does change the experience of the tunnel for the better. :)

I just got home from the park... (yes, it's 3:30 AM). Had a great day at the park, including Joe Cool Maverick ERT (4 rides in under an hour!)...

Anyway, I will talk about the trip in my Trip Report that I will write when I am not on the brink of unconsciousness, but one thing that many of you will be excited to hear about:

The Mist is back on in the tunnel, and its awesome!

...but neither the water bombs or the hose are working anymore.

Water allocation....budget cuts...whatever it is, we can not get all 3 water effects working at once!

That's great, glad to hear they got the mist running again! I'm curious if it looks any different from when it was running the first day. Will have to wait until next week to check it out, as I'm in Austin right now (and we're going to Six Flags Fiesta Texas today..)

o man, i missed the mist.when i wen ton it there was the water canyon and the water fountain.that was on June 2, a week after it came out

The mist really adds to the ride. I was also there for Joe Cool ERT as well as earlier in the day and compared to my first ride two weeks ago, this one was so much better. You can no longer see the light at the end, and combined with the lights it gives a really neat effect. You do get a little wet, especially in the front row, but it's worth it. It can actually make you a little disoriented near the end, all of a sudden you're out and diving towards the pond.

Is the mist in the tunnel, at the end of the tunnel, or at the beginning of the tunnel? (can you see the mist while waiting for the ride coming out of the tunnel)

It starts light near the beginning and gets heavier as the tunnel goes. At least that's how it is now. I wouldn't be surprised if they changed it again. Depending on what the weather's like, people's reactions, etc. Like some have said, there's enough mist to get you a little damp, in colder temperatures it's kind of cold when you hit the open air again. I'm not sure I'd want the mist so heavy on a weekend in October!

It was chilly the morning we went to SFNE and the mist in the tunnel on S:ROS was really cold. But, the effect of the mist was far worth the cold. You couldn't see anything in that tunnel except white "fog". It was awesome.

Glad to hear they got it working again. I'll be at the park this weekend to take my first ride.

^^ I won't disagree with you, the effect of the mist is worth getting cold for a few minutes, the mist is what pushed Maverick into my top three favorite rides. Amazing what a few effects can do for the overall impression of a ride.

The mist is great. I rode it yesterday and today and it was on both days. The water bombs and hose were on Wednesday, but not Thursday or Friday. The mist really adds to the ride. I can imagine how seeing the end of the tunnel would take away from the experience.

The Mist was also working Today for my ride , and it's near the second half of the tunnel, where all the lights are. It DOES add to the experience, and DOES prevent you from seeing the light @ the end of the tunnel. KEEP THIS UP Cedar Point! =o)

I'm excited to get out there and ride it again now... I have yet to have a mist-filled experience.

I've had a wide array of "how-slow-you-get-in-the-tunnel" rides, from pause and wait 20 seconds.. to barely even registered the brakes at all. Which, is fun... you really don't know how long you'll be there before you hit the launch, which will always be a fun treat..

Anyways, I'm excited to see the mist in action... especially how the LED's play off the mist, I bet it's pretty darn cool. ;)

Well, the mist was off again on Sunday. It seems it's still causing some issues in the tunnel, so not sure when it will return. Hopefully soon. It really adds to the ride experience.

Were the other water effects still functioning? Or were all of them off?

The water bombs were on, but the water spout over the canyon was off (that one I'm ok with it being off).

It's almost becoming a lottery...lets see who can ride with all three effects going. :)
