The water bombs were on yesterday. I think they did more for me when I was watching the ride rather than when I was actually riding. Either they timing was a little off or I just wasn't paying attention, but is seemed like they were a little late. The front seat was past before the first would go off. The tuneel still had no mist. I can see how having that much draker would add alot to the ride.
If they start the bombs too soon, riders on the train might get wet. Which wouldn't feel too good. As it is now, you don't really see them from the train unless you are looking to the right wile riding or if your in the back right side of the train. I wouldn't suggest looking to the right while riding. With the sudden changes in direction, you could hurt your neck.

Yeah, I am assuming that the "change" they made to the water bombs was actually delaying them more. When they were off the first time, I heard the reason was because the trains were getting wet.
I thought they looked pretty cool yesterday, but I do not understand the inconsistency of the Fire Hose. It's on one day, and off the next. I wonder if they are just experimenting with different things. I also noticed that on the far end of the pond closest to the launch tunnel, there was a fairly large area of bubbling water. I don't know if this was filling the water bombs, or if it is something else that is being added...
Or it may be the exhausting of Skyhawk's air in the pond that was mentioned last year by Tony and Tyler... haha.
Oh, and check out these new water effects I just caught on the webcam!

There is no camera in the tunnel.

I guess I should have been more specific. They are not taking on ride photos in the tunnel. The on ride photo is just after the last canyon. I do belive Dave is right in at least some regard about the employees not being able to see. Because the fog was gone after the first E-Stop in the tunnel. I was in the train on the lift and we sat there for about 15 minutes.

They have been taking photos in the tunnel since opening weekend. They just didn't always work. On Memorial Day during the early part of the day, the picture on the screens was only from the S-Curve. Later in the day, the pictures were from in the tunnel. When I was there last week, they were showing both.

^^That makes sense. I guess I've just been unfortunate enough to have been there on 3 days when they were having problems.

Mist or Fog as we call it is essential for good special effects. Look at Iron Dragon. Its not the most spectacular coaster in the park but has some of the best foggers goin on in the bussiness. I dont know it you all remember, but when At the time when Adventure exspress was installed, At Kings Island,At the very first bend out of the station , before the tunnel, there werefoggers and they were superb. But in 1994( I was there actually )a big storm came through and damaged the track and the foggers and since then, they were never turned back on again. So if there are foggers on Maverick ,it would be awsome if there were activated.
Someone asked about the fog in the tunnel during the Coastermania Q&A and the answer was that they are bringing it back after they make some changes. They were having problems seeing the train on the camera and with getting the fog out of the tunnel if needed so they are installing new sensors to allow them to be able to track the train the entire length of the tunnel (making the camera less important) and fans to allow them to clear out the fog quickly if needed. *** Edited 6/17/2007 7:21:02 PM UTC by Coasterfan***
