We'll see who's right. Now that we have both sides of the debate on the table, can we please put them aside and get back to the intended focus of the thread which is: Should Maverick open this weekend (given the anectdotal evidence we know), who would be interested in getting together for some sort of Maverick Opening Day festivities?
Yeah, I can't eat hot dogs on Fridays, I'd like to retract my bid.

So, we're trusting the guy who's company screwed up in the first place to tell us when it will open?

How are crowds Memorial Day??? If it opens I will go that day since I will have the day off from my work.
threads never stay on the same topic. but I will definitely try to be there.
^^^Memorial Day and Labor Day are generally light days, especially when compared to the rest of the weekend. It's the last day of a three day weekend and is usually considered a travel day, so no one goes to the park.
As for the ride opening on Saturday, that might be the day Intamin hands the ride back over to CP and not "opening" day. I think a safer bet would be the weekend of June 2. That's a full week to break in, inspect, and continue crew training.
Don't you just love speculation???? :)

I'm just waiting and hoping......that's all I (as well as the lot of us) can do right now. But IF it does open saturday, and I CAN go, I'm up for the meeting. If not, Im going to try and go monday, since I have that day off anyway.

Does anybody know what the final total was that Walt collected? I see the top bid is $2515 and the second bid is $2316.01.The $2316.01 is about what I saw the total at the other day, did Walt collect enough or is the $2515 somebody else?
The $2515 is someone else.
If I added it up right, the Red Cross collected $32,583.17 for the Auction.

That sucks. I thought for sure we'd get the highest bid for Mr. Scott. It's great to see they raised a ton of money. Hopefully people won't retract because they can't come now (if they can't come).
I belive the seat was going to be the Front seat onthe Second Train.

Well I will be there this Saturday, and next Saturday. Personally, I hope it opens on June 2nd, because it would be one heck of a birthday gift for me :).
