Marina Entance gate question

Does the Marina Entrance gate open at 9:30 AM
like the main gate.

This would give us a shorter jaunt to MF.

Sam

The Marina Entrance opens at 9:00 AM for all the guests staying in one of their hotels.

A more general answer is that all four of Cedar Point's guest entrances open at the same time - whatever time that may be any given day.

Actually last Friday when we went and used the Marina gate, they started letting people in just as they started playing 'God Bless America' at 9:30 (non-guest time). We had a nice casual walk to MF without having to run once - and we were there just before the fast runners got there.
how exactly do u get to the marina gae and where do u park please?

we are going next weekend and want to gt to ttd pretty quick .

is it closer than the challenge park entrance?

the magnum entrance is definately alot closer than the marina gate to TTD. Use the Marina gate if you want to make it to MF fast.

ok I have a question regarding the magnum entrance.
I have seen many people say how they park in the lot near the gemini. How is it possible to get back there?I always have to park in the main lot along with everyone else.Only one time i remember parking back there but that was because the park was totally packed and was being used as overflow parking.
Now I am plannig to go on June 8th which should not be as busy as a weekend so will it still be possible to park back there?thanks in advance

Use the left-hand most toll booth, and stay to the left after the toll booth. You'll end up on the road that goes between the Marina and MF. Just follow it around and park behind Gemini. I always use that, because you can avoid the crowds at the front of the park at the beginning of the day.

John

thank JuggaLotus.I wasnt sure if I would get stopped at the shack there or if you were allowed to park back there.I figured that was for hotel guest only. thanks again for the info.

There is a parking lot just for resort guests, and if you hit the guard shack there, you've gone too far. Before you get to the guard shack there is the Soak City/Challenge Park parking lot on the left hand side of the road. As you're driving back, you'll pass MF, and be along the railroad for a bit, and then you'll pass MS on the right, and light house point will be on the left and then you'll hit the parking lot.

I have a question. Can normal guests park in the Marina enterance, or do you have to have a boat in the Marina?

Also, last year, my dad and I went to the toll booth all the way to the left and the parking toll-taker asked us if we were going to soak city. We said no, and the woman told us to park in main parking. Can you still go to the Soak City lot if you do not intend on going to Soak city?

MF Laps- 30

Uh...no....you don't need a boat, all you have to do is drive around the park, it's almost hidden right inbetween the cobra roll of Raptor and the Dodgems. I don't care what anybody says ever, the marina gate is the way to go no matter where you're trying to get to. I was the 2nd one in line for TTD when i went through the marina gate, and i was the 1st in line for MF. There's never a line at that gate (at least not now i've never been there in the summer) so you should get in quick. But my advice for you is to get ur passes (if you have any) and get them to write the number down if it's from a Cedar Fair park and not Cedar Point, especially if you're with a group of people cuz it can get frustrating if you're trying to get somewhere quick and you see people from the main gate beating you there!
Lighten up, folks! You've got all day (s) in the park!

I know I am resurrecting an old thread here, but I did a search and the info I found brought up a new question that I couldn't find an answer for in the old threads.

My question: Did anyone here use the Marina gate last season and did it open at the same time as the main gate? I saw a whole bunch posts that it didn't open until later in the past. Just wondering what the M.O. was last season.

Nick

Last year we walked over to the Marina gate from the parking lot so we could be closer to MF at opening. They opened at the same time as the main gate.

I didn't do the Marina Gate as much as I did 2 years ago. But the Marina Gate is supposed to open at the same time as the other gates. What annoys me is that they aren't as good at checking for "Joe Cool" aka "Point Perks" at the Marina and Resort Gates. I think they tend to assume that if your at that gate, you must be a resort guest.Additionally, unless I read the Alex's post wrong, I think he was asking if your allowed to park in the lot near the marina. And the answer to that is no. Unless your going to Famous Dave's or you have a boat. I think that's the lot he was talking about. There is a guard posted at that lot as well as the resort lot. When going to the Marina Gate, I will drive as if I'm going around to Soak City, and then park as far up and tho the left as I can. If your there before the park opens, you can usually get pretty close. From there, you have to walk the rest of the way. After you pas the marked lot near Blue Streak, there is a Marked Blue path you can follow to the Marina Gate.

How long of a walk is it to the Marina gate from the main parking lot?....I'm thinking maybe 5 to 10 minutes, but I've never been back Perimeter road, so that is just a guess.

Nick

I would say that's a pretty good estimate, depending on how close you're parked to the walkway and how quickly you walk.

I always walk fairly quickly and I will probably be there solo, so there will not be anyone to complain about me walking too fast. Plus I am gonna try to get there early enough to get a parking spot pretty close. I'd like to be the first person through that Marina gate, and to MF. I don't know why, just a crazy personal goal. :)

Nick

Haha, you may have to get there crazily early, like 6 am if that's your goal. Last year before we knew that Maverick wasn't going to be open on time some friends and I made plans to be at the Magnum gate (shortest rout to Maverick, I walked it off in 2006) by 6:30. Well, once we found out Maverick wasn't going to open, we decided to meet at the same time because we already had plans, only we met at the Marina gate instead to try and be the first ones on MF. Point in case: My friends and a few other people I know that go opening day every year are crazy and will be there at a gate at 6:30 in the morning. My tip if you do that is to bring some donuts and drinks with you so you can have breakfast. :)

Luckily, this year you won't have to worry about beating me, since I'll be working. My friends though...well, I guess you'll find out, because I don't know what they're doing. ;)

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
