^^We never really dismissed or really badgered anyone over the removal deal here..the floorless conversion and repaint, etc. did catch some flack, rightfully.
I still say FUN isn't SIX. Repainting a coaster and slapping new trains on something isn't the way the chain operates, it's a very SIX thing to do, not a FUN thing.

Most of the discussion was centered around a group who says how easy a floorless conversion would be, just pop some new trains on that track, and presto - instant top 10 steel coaster in the world. Whereas another group was saying they did not think it is that simple to do.
So instead of telling people haha I was right... perhaps the floorless folks should hold off on the celebration as the steel that is currently Mantis may just end up at the scrap yard...
I remain unconvinced that Mantis could be easily transformed into a seated coaster (though if wrong, I have a serving of crow at hand). Beyond the reasons stated: what would be the point? If people don't like Mantis, as many people here say, what's the point of making a coaster people don't like to ride into a coaster people don't like to ride, but can ride sitting down?
Exactly.
We have either: Scrapyard, sold to some other park, or transferred somewhere in the chain. Other parks have yet to make an announcement, Mantis could be part of that announcement. See KI, MiA, Dorney..all have had transferred rides that they marketed as new for the upcoming season.
It staying on point, I doubt it..I think hey, here's the last day to ride, it's shutdown, and soon after announcement for '15.
Lets look at track records. DT/SS anouncement 13JUL for a 29JUL closure. Then 06AUG-29AUG it was demolished, while GK was announced 13AUG.
Or PWX, 19AUG announcement of it's closure, and Dinos addition, last ride concluded 05SEP.
History repeated itself, I'm sure I could go back even further..
