YAY! Also I just witnessed a Dragster train roll back. Anyway though, I hope they change the track color as well. It looks like they are sticking with Purple, green, and red? The purple and green is not part of the Cleveland Cavaliers colors, but then again they just started painting too.

Looks like at the very least, the ride is getting a new color scheme.
Interesting, and those are definitely not Cavs colors...
Between this color scheme, pictures of wood on the Matterhorn which are the same color as Blue Streak, Utility markings at Point Pavillion, Rougarou, people working diligently, and missing L's I am now 100% sure that... I have no idea what is going to be built for next year.
I'll be a little sad if they paint over Mantis. Thats probably my favorite paint scheme for a coaster in the park along with Raptor.
I love CP to the core but it doesnt have some of the diversity in color of the coasters that other parks have. Alot of red, a couple blue....
Edit: And yes I'm aware the Mantis is two of those colors but its done in a much more interesting way....
While Mantis is not my favorite coaster, I do ride it a couple times a year.
It seems like it is pretty compact and doesn't take up a lot of space,
wouldn't it be more difficult to install a new 'record breaking' something in this specific location. It just seems very limiting in what could go there.
I would think that a new installation in place of the Cedars Dorms/ back lot of Celebration Plaza would allow for more creativity and open up the view of the bay as well.
I just don't see taking down Mantis as it is a unique coaster, unlike any other in the park.
And as far as maintenance there are other areas of the park that use that budget as well, that do not contribute to the guest experience/ride options or provide sources of additional revenue.

If it's getting a brand new paint job, it's certainly not going anywhere.
Like it or not, Mantis does add diversity to Cedar Point's lineup. Stand-ups are an endangered species.
Promoter of fog.
Is it possible that what's seen in that picture is the aftermath of repairing rust?

Well, maybe we are getting the floorless trains after all. Hopefully, it is still going to be named Mantis and is just getting a newer paint scheme. But the question is, where does King James and Rougarou come in play? I sense a large amount of changes for next season.
Arms Down, Head Back, and Hold On!...Arms Down!...Arms Down......
What if Mantis is getting renamed Rougarou and it is getting floorless trains. Could that be qualified as a new ride?
I was looking through the comments on that Facebook page mentioned earlier, and someone said "I think it's going floor less, rumor is mantis is shutting down in sept.".
I doubt that's true but you never know.
Maybe one of the new haunts is going where the pavillions are?
Weather Freak
Ride Warrior
My (final) guess is Rougarou is going to be a new, unannounced attraction. With that, Mantis will get a major refurbishment for next season (it may be renamed...again!) And I think King James will either be a new name for Mantis, Raptor, or even Mean Streak. I bet Rougarou will be in the front of the park, replacing Cadillac Cars. It's just an idea though, don't get me wrong.

What if the green on Mantis' track is green for Akron St. Vincent St. Mary!!? Even if Lebron left again The school will always be there! If I had to bet I'd say the new attraction will be in the back by Maverick... just my guess!
^You're saying these colors match?

maybe they are looking at getting another b&m in the future and instead of wasting the time to go look at painted track somewhere (the cost of sending multiple people on site somewhere just to look at paint schemes), they are simply testing paint colors on an existing b&m track? i'd love to see a floorless coaster take mantis's spot, only because the ride is so hit or miss. don't get me wrong, i agree it adds diversity to cedar point's line up and without the trim brakes on the first drop its a great ride, but more times than not, i get off the ride with weak/bothered legs or a sore crotch! lol
I doubt they would spend that much time and money over the color decision of a ride. That's why there are paint swatches available.
Hm. Tony mentioned 'respect the old and the new, it is evolution" or something like that in an interview. With all these big changes coming up next year, Mantis may be the first to evolve. My guess is either floorless trains and new paint job or a new paint job and a King James rename.
Arms Down, Head Back, and Hold On!...Arms Down!...Arms Down......
All this talk about Mantis getting floorless trains is just a pipedream made up by coaster enthusiasts as a result of whatever it was they were smoking. Forget about the floorless trains, it's not going to happen and Mantis is fine they way it was designed, a stand-up roller coaster.
