Nothings Mean Streak rough or MF smooth. Is it just me, or does anyone else think MF isn't nearly as smooth as it was the first few years it was open?
It shuffles a bit more, but its still really smooth.
I don't understand the shuffling, though. When I rode S:ROS at SFNE it wasn't shuffling at all, and I can't remember the other 2 but I don't think it was as prevalent as it is on MF. I don't buy that it has to do with the speed, because it doesn't happen all the time. Oh, and WT does it too and its roughly the same speed as the SROS's.
I've never had a roughness problem until I took my first ride in the ejector seat last trip. Man, was that an experience :) strongly recommend it to anyone out there, 3rd seat of first car. Insane ride.

Jerreus,
Never admit you are a wimp because you can't handle Magnum. It's not THAT bad.

The 1st time I rode Magnum, I was in the 3rd seat 2nd car. Well I must admit, I did not enjoy the ride very much. It took me a while to get the nerve to go again, but 2nd time was in the 2nd seat same car. "Wow, this isn't so bad" I said and really enjoyed it. It was my 9-year old son that figured out the 3rd seat was an "ejector seat" (as I've heard ride ops call it). So now I just avoid 3rd seat any car, but my favorite is the 1st seat of the train, what a view! I concur with the emotional attachment to times spent on Maggie. Just the sound of the lift chain and the clacking on the lift hill makes me think of many fun times I have had riding with family, friends and others a that I just met in line. ENJOY!!!

...I was expecting a great ride from the Raven since it was ranked as the number one wooden coaster in the world three years in a row. It's a joke. A complete joke. I cannot understand the Golden Ticket on that one. Blue Streak is a far better ride.
Wow. I never thought I'd hear someone say that. Hill 5 to the brakes on The Raven on a warm summer evening approaches rollercoaster perfection in my book. Sure, it's been eclipsed by The Voyage, but hardly a "joke".

Somethings wrong with my computer, Where to have u view my post, I must edit it and retype it...But anyway....
Why is so hard to believe that there is a roller coaster great enough to remain in the top10 list after what 16 years? Maybe it's just that good of a coaster.
And if Mantis and Raptor both get huge signs at the entrances, why doesnt Magnum? I'll bet many people dont even see the entrance.

Like Jugga John said, all it needs is the storm trooper to be put back in it's place at the entrance. *** Edited 7/1/2006 12:48:50 AM UTC by Coastern3rd***
Magnum and Raptor consistently vie for position as the two attractions that give the most rides every year.
If I'm not mistaken, the CP&LE Railroad gives more rides than any other at the park. Now, if you are just referring to the coasters, then you may be correct.
CP&LE came in at #6 last year.

^ That is intresting Walt, I would have never guessed that the Magnum would have givin more rides than other major coasters. :)
Total Maverick rides for the 2007 season = 27
Top 5--- 1. Maverick- 2. Millennium 3. Magnum 4. TTD 5. Gemini
Cavs- 2007 Eastern Conference Champions!.-
I was in the little gift shop next to the exit to TTD on Wednesday getting me a Pepsi, and a group of people came in and asked an employee where Magnum was and he was like "Um.....uh...." and appeared rather perlexed, so I gave them the directions, and made sure to tell them to keep an eye out because it's sort of hidden in the trees. I didn't see them again the rest of the day, so I hope they enjoyed the ride.
I do think the Magnum entrance is fairly easy to walk by if you don't know what you're looking for, especially for people who haven't been to the park before. Of my 3 trips to the park, I don't think I've ever seen the queue even have to use a set of the switchbacks or whatever you call them, just a straight shot past the vending machines and up to the stairs and very short wait every time.
As far as Magnum, my first trip to Cedar Point was in 2004, so I had a fresh go at all the coasters there without any previous attachment, which is why Magnum is #4 on my list. Still a great coaster in my opinion, and a close run for #3 on my list, so I guess I simply lack the emotional attachment to the ride. Still love that pretzel and the hills though, you can't beat a great ride like that for such a short wait.
I miss the "themeing" Magnum used to have in the beginning. I'm talking about the recorded warnings played throughout the Q. They really built the antisipation of the ride! Don't get me wrong, it's still a great ride (and one of my favs), but I miss the recordings that would create excitement.

What's more impressive about those ride admittance numbers is that Magnum doesn't get the extra hour in the morning for Joe Cool members that Raptor does. If Magnum got that extra hour, I could easily see an extra 100k of riders over the course of the season.

I'm talking about something along the lines of this...
http://www.rcdb.com/ig7.htm?picture=11
I can see the sign in my mind to the lef of the entrance or even above it like Raptor has. And whats the big deal about getting lapbars changed to a different model? I'm sure that if they used some other model, it would stop the B**ching from those wimps who think of Maggie as a bucking bronco. If they DID, which they most likely wont, would it take away from the airtime?

Mr. Scott, remember when the recording would say "on a clear day, you can see Canada." and the line would start to chatter up?
The line used to be really exciting and filled with people. I remember waiting behind the bathrooms, the cement pad is still there for the extended line.
I hate the threads with people complaining about roughness! I was trying to keep from posting but...
MAGNUM IS NOT ROUGH!! For those of you that think so! WIMP! Go ride Force if that is what you want. If B&M or Intamin coasters didn't exist, you wouldn't be complaining. I haven't had bruises from Magnum in years!
Leave Magnum alone! Except for a little paint every now and then like Coastern3rd said.
I haven't been on Magnum since weekend following Coastermania. So I am feeling a little edgy! :)
Roughness has never been a problem for me, it is just the lapbar causing pain when you hit the airtime hills. Tightning your seatbelt as much as possible solved the issue for me; it doesn't take away the airtime either.

Coastern3rd,
I think I remember the bit about being able to see Canada, but am not sure. I visited the park back in '89 or '90 (I had been there with Mom and Dad in '76 and friends in the early '80's) and then didn't return until 2000. That's when my addiction with the place really began.

If you want to talk about rabid Magnum fans, I know of a few people that have over 2,000 rides on Maggie.
Peronaly, when I got CP last year, Maggies was the first coaster I rode. NOT MF. It is and always WILL BE a awesome ride!
Best ride I ever had on that thing was right before a storm came in. Looking over towars Camper Village, the sky was black as coal. A very breathtaking sight!
