Do any of you feel that Magnum is overlooked? I do I mean it is a pretty good ride and the airtime you get on it is auesome. I have never really seen the line very long. I think its one of those coasters when people just say " look its the magnum, oh well". How about you guys, do you feel the same way or different? :)
Total Maverick rides for the 2007 season = 27
Top 5--- 1. Maverick- 2. Millennium 3. Magnum 4. TTD 5. Gemini
Cavs- 2007 Eastern Conference Champions!.-
Typically, I'd say no. I think it's very highly looked upon by the park and the general public.

I still really enjoy it.
I continually hear people coming off the ride complaining about how rough it is, but I don't get it. Once I securely press my feet against the seat ahead and raise my hands, I've never had an issue with the lap bar.
The length of the line only means that people are willing to stand in line. If there is zero line but every seat gets filled, then the capacity is the same as if there were a two-hour line. Generally speaking, during the bulk of the season, Magnum fills its trains.

I have a new found respect for Magnum after my last trip in the park. Sure, the bunny hills at the end, espically the one in the tunnel, can hurt, but it's still an awesome ride. And boy, does the line move. Even when queue is filled, it moves at a decent pace.
I wouldn't say it's overlooked, it was the third longest wait for me in the park, to only Millennium Force and Raptor.

I ride it at least twice every time i go. Its not a very creative ride, just bunny hops and stuff but the speed and airtime are awsome. Its deffinetly one of the best coasters hands down.

Magnum remains my personal favorite at CP.
It's got an edge that the new rides lack. There's nothing like feeling the upstops slam against the underside of the track on hill three - one of the greatest moments in all of coasterdom (is that a word?)
To being an "us" for once - instead of a "them"
I think that Magnum gets a lot of attention. It's a truly awesome ride, and when I was just there, all the trains were filled and had a few car wait.

"That's one big MF!"
I <33 MF and El Toro!
I think Mag's deserves a better looking entrance!!! You can walk right by it without even noticing it.
2004,2005 Food Services
2006 One Long visit
Magnum is a great ride, but I can have great rides and some horrible rides when it is really rough. It is one of my favorite rides when it is a smooth ride.
Thrills Around the Corner!
Megnum I really like, it's a great ride (I love to ride it when/after its raining). Didn't it get voted like #3 best coaster or something like that. I like it.

Magnum is awesome!!!!!
It's a great ride, awesome airtime!!! It is my favorite ride in the park along with Gemini.
The line is not usually very long but all the cars are usually filled.
Riding in the last seat is an awesome ride.

That's exactly why it SHOULDN'T get a new entrance. As long as I know where the entrance is, I don't care if anyone else knows where it is. :)
I wish it was overlooked on some of my visits.

Maggie is one of my favorites equal to MF and TTD. As long as I'm not in the 3rd seat, then the air time becomes jerk time, but sometimes that is fun too. I also love the short lines and it isn't unusual for me to ride it 3-5 times each visit and still not get enough.
ENJOY!
Ill be blunt.
In the world of Cedar Point, and only Cedar Point, yes, it is a truly awesome coaster, and in the top 3. However, quite frankly, I am baffled as to how it keeps getting rated as high as it does every year on a national/global level, and feel that is is a tad bit overrated by coaster enthusiasts. (and I said "tad bit"...not a lot)
I am, though, shocked at the line it does not have every time we visit CP. Of course, I am someone who remembers waiting 3 hours to ride in its first year, and just being astonished at its speed and height back then.
Honestly, in the world of coasters today, I do not see how Magnum has any business in the top 10. I have been to a VERY limited amount of parks in my life compared to some, and it barely cracks mine.
From a historical perspective, yes, it deserves all the respect in the world.
So to answer your question, Jerreus, I actually do feel its overlooked at CP, mainly b/c the line is so short (however, how they can let the station remain as it is is beyond me), but nationally, I feel it is overrated.

Magnum XL 200 has to be my second favorite coaster at Cedar Point. Only Millennium Force to me has a higher vote. I rank it this way:
1. Millennium Force
2. Magnum XL 200
3. Top Thrill Dragster
I definately think Magnum XL 200 deserves a monumental sign like Millennium Force or Top Thrill Dragster does. I mean it always ranks in the top 5 every single year since it opened practically. I'm surprised though that when like Dragster is down, the whole queue isn't filled before going up the stairs to the plattform.
Kevinj- It ranks so highly because it's one of very VERY few steel coasters that has a personality. There are a LOT of people that have a strong emotional attachment to the ride, too. Combine those two and you've got some CRAZILY rabid Magnum fans (myself included).

I dont deny that at all, and I was attempting to be very careful with my words, as I am in NO WAY even slightly attempting to belittle or bash Magnum. It will always have a special place in the area of my heart reserved for Cedar Point.
