Loudest coaster

What do think the loudist roller coaster is at Cedar Point is? Mantis? Iron Dragon? TTD? MF?

What about the loudist thrill ride? Demon Drop? Power Tower? Skyhawk? etc.

TTD with all the sound FX and stuff, if it wasn't for that it would probably be Mantis.

Raptor or Mantis probably.

Mantis due to the B&M roar

The loudest is probably Mantis but the clankiest is Iron Dragon.

The loudest thrill ride is a tie between all the pressure controled (SkyHawk, maXair, and Power Tower) with demon drop coming in second.

Raptor by far is the loudest

Mantis hands down,
Second place will have to go to Wicked Twister on the platform that gets pretty loud.

Power Tower and Sky Hawk come in tied
Second place will need to go to Demon Drop.

Wicked Twister does get pretty loud when it first launches. Especially when the motors, the sound effects and the screams all start at once.

I love the roar of the Mantis and Raptor! I love the B&M roar! My son has the roar of the Dominator form Geauga Lake on his phone! We use to take our time after we got off the ride to hear the roar as the car roared over our heads!

Raptor and Mantis when it roars by is amazing to listen to.

Even tho its not the coaster, Top Thrills engine revving is really loud and i can hear it in MF, Gemini, and sometimes in Raptors line.

Mantis. Just waiting in line for that one, you have to shout what your saying to your friends. The station waiting for Mantis is louder than the queue. It's still a good coaster though. :)

^well... it at least lets you know there's a train at the launch position. Whether or not it launches is to be determined :P

As for loudest I have to go with Mantis, like many others. I love that roar as it winds through the course. I also love the sound of Magnum's chain if you're in the parking lot by SC. That's usually the first sound I hear, and I get really excited when I hear it.

I also like Mean Sreak as it squeals its way around some of those bends ;)

Arn't you all forgetting about magnum's VERY loud lift system? That clung clung clung of the lift is so loud, you have to scream to your friends at challenge park, soak city, and in gemini's line! :)

All of you B&M "roar" lovers should not visit Dorney or your love would fade.

Talon's supports are filled with sand to "mute" the roar and it works quite well.

As for sustained loudness at CP, I'd have to hand it to the anti rollbacks on Magnum and Raptor.

I must say if you have ever had a chance to hear MF's anti-rollbacks when they are engaged, that is probably the loudest noise on point.

This is all irrelevant though, as we all know Gemini is the loudest coaster at cedar point.......

^^LOL, That was the first thing I noticed about Talon and Hydra when I rode them last year. I put them in my ninja coaster classification.:)

And I'll give some credit to Millennium's antirollbacks because I can hear them VERY clearly at the Resort gates in the morning during testing.

OH and I want to point out that while Dragster isn't the loudest coaster, it had the loudest speaker in the whole park. Back in 06, I was at the ramp waiting for Dragster to open up from downtime and an op came over the speakers (right at the ramp). Well let's say I felt the sound before I heard it. It was similar to the feeling you get if lighting strikes close to you. My ears we're ringing for a good while after that. They've since then fixed the volume.

I love Raptor's roar. :) It was one of my favorite things about Cedar Point. Magnum definately has the loudest lift hill. And I wouldn't want it any other way. :) TTD is pretty loud too.
