I went to CP today and there were surprisingly long lines for a tuesday. SO it got me thinking whats the long line wait you've seen and what the longest you've waited
I remember before the lame (although more fair) disability agreement when you could go to the front of the line and ride twice with up to four people when with a handicapped person the line for MF was 4 hours.
Oh and just an FYI I think reregistering for a time to ride is more fair to others but at the same time my mom is in a wheelchair, paralyzed I think it was nice for CP to let the few who were handicapped yet still able to ride cut to the front because the extra 35 second wait for you is nothing in comparison of what my mom has gone through for 30 years

Longest wait I ever had was in July 2007 while waiting for Maverick. It was about 2 hours and 15 minutes if I remember correctly. This may not seem like a long wait but when its 87 degrees out it feels like an eternity.
Around 3 and a half hours for Millennium. I forget when it was but it was 90 degrees out and I hated it. I don't even like Mille and I waited for my friends. Ugh. :)
Let's Get Weird.
I did not wait in it, but I think dragster had a 6 hour wait when it came out.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I believe I saw a picture where the line for Dragster was backed up to Iron Dragon but that might be because they didn't open the ride yet.
I thought the all-time champ was still Corkscrew with its legendary four to six hour waits. That was WITHOUT breakdowns.
Remember, back in 1976, the park had higher attendance than it has now, but with only Blue Streak, Mine Ride, Wildcat, Jumbo Jet and Corkscrew to serve its roller coasting needs.

4+ hours for an opening day 2003 Dragster Ride. I thought I got there early. Well, I was wrong. :-)
The queue was full and I was in the line that wrapped around the front of the grandstand. When I got in line I was by the on ride photo store.

Good for CP that it was crowded on a Tuesday in early June. That is pretty abnormal. It was pretty crowded yesterday also from what I hear.
The longest I've ever waited was 2.5 hours for Raptor on a hot August day probably in 1995 or so. My cousins asked me to go on a Saturday...even at 9 years old or so, I despised going on Saturday, but I couldn't turn down a trip.
This is a very awful story though. Raptor que was completely full with many temporary turnstiles. We waited through all of it in 90 degree, sunny, humid weather (the park was just packed that day). After waiting about 2 hours, 25 minutes...we got to the stairs of Raptor, and I passed out. I collapsed on the ground and turned blue, so my cousins say.
The Cedar Point police monitoring the Raptor line rushed over and called a CP ambulance, and I was taken away. My cousins felt obligated to come with me, so none of us ever rode it after waiting 2 hours, 25 minutes. I still feel awful about that even today!

I'm guessing you didn't have much to drink that day.
Maybe if soda was not $4.50, he may have drank more. ;)

4 hours for Millennium Force. It was the 4th of July and they had the fireworks display while we were waiting in line. It was the first year it was open and I can remember pretty much every detail of the wait in line as my anticipation grew greater and greater with each passing train. Watching the lift hill all lit up had my heart racing looking up at it as it towers over the station. I still remember entering that station for the first time and hearing the 'futuristic' music with the robotic sounding safety voice. There are definitely moments I wish I could go back and relive all over again and this is definitely up there. Even though it was four hours it seemed to fly by as my excitement and anticipation were so high. The next day we actually met the girl who did the original voice for Millie. She was doing a show and asked the crowd if they had enjoyed Millennium Force and when the crowd applauded the ride she went...."welcome to Millennium Force....." Pretty cool trip.
I remember when I was a kid in the early 80's, the first year the American Eagle opened at SFGA my dad and I waited in line for well over 4 hours.

I waited about 3 years for Test Track at WDW.

Last year we waited for Maverick for around 2 1/4 hours. That's probably my longest wait thus far. I'll wait 1 & 1/2 hours for any of the big three but if it looks like more, I'm moving on.
I've noticed Dragster isn't opening the queues a lot this year. Two weeks ago the lady told us it was a 2 hr wait, but we could see the first two queues weren't opened, then, after moving forward, we saw that none of the five queues were open and it was just a straight shot line to the ride, it was a 45 min wait tops.
you can tell CP wasn't expecting that many people because the queues weren't open on almost all the rides they had it set for a straight shot witch is what I expected. I'll generally wait an hour if I'm with friends but if I'm by myself I run through to ride everything and jump in the longest line right before the park closes.

Oh, and mean streak had to open the queues and had about a 45 min wait and this was yesterday god if it was July we'd have 4 hour waits on Mean Streak

A couple years ago on a Saturday during halloweekends, every coaster's queue was filled and/or spilling into the midway. Including Mean Streak. The entire infield queue was full. It was over a 2 hour wait.

I should mention that I did not wait 6 hours to ride Corkscrew. And I never rode Jumbo Jet because I was never tall enough for its 60" height requirement.
But I know that Corkscrew did generate 6+ hour waits. My longest wait for a Cedar Point coaster was 3 hours for Dragster on its media day. I do remember going to the park with people who did ride Corkscrew; they waited in line while the rest of us rode *everything* else.

60"? Wow! If you want to see how a requirement like that would go over today. Just read the threads when CP changed Maverick's requirement from 48" to 52"
