I remember in 2000 when MF first opened the line went way out of the queue and it went through the wooden tunnel in the frontier. We waited 3 and a half hrs. Gatekeeper will be over 3 hours. Get ready for along wait.
Top 5: (1) Superman the Ride (2) Millennium Force (3) Maverick (4) Leviathan (5) Diamondback
Comparing the two rides, there's really no reason why GateKeeper's line should be that long. Millennium had far more (deserved) hype due to its incredible record-breaking, height, and speed. GateKeeper will be a great ride, but what's special about it other than it being CP's first coaster in 6 years and having the wing feature.
Judging by the reliability of other B&M coasters, I would guess that Gatekeeper's wait times won't be as long as MF, Maverick or TTD since it will not be shut down as often. Compared to other B&M's at CP, this one should move people through more quickly since there are no storage bins.
Not as of today.
EDIT: Wasnt aware they were there the last half of the day.
At least they're only for shoes like flip flops. All other loose articles have to go in a locker or a nonrider. I guess some type of bin is unavoidable on a ride where your feet dangle.

As long as we don't have to deal with idiots carrying their purses, backpacks, basketballs, and other non-pocket-able crap, I'm good.
Demon Drop 2004
Castaway Bay Lifeguard 04-05
There were a number of people on opening of these rides. I personally waited for 2 hours for my turn. People demonstrated a lot of zeal and craze towards these new rides and no doubt those were awesome.
Just daring persons should try this one.
Can someone explain to me how the MF ticket system worked exactly?
And I agree that GK won't experience waits quite as long as MF... Though MF's was before my time, I remember the ride receiving substantially more hype and anticipation than GK.
Also, it looks like GK's wait time sign is of a new style? Though it's definitely cleaner and makes the wait times more obvious, I'm surprised it doesn't have a 120 mark. I can definitely see the line reaching 2 hours.
Thrills Around the Corner!
If you read the sign again, you will see that it says "From This Point". The longest anticipated wait from where the sign is won't be longer than the max number of minutes on the sign. The line can certainly extend past the sign, but that doesn't change the max wait time "from this point".
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
