Longest Waiting Line

For those who were at Cedar Point on both Millennium Force's and Top Thrill Dragster's opening days, which one had the longer wait time and at what time?

I believe I read awhile back that Millennium's queue was entirely filled and the line extended out back to the sky ride or something and that it was at least a 5 hour wait.

I don't know about the actual first day of those rides, but I remember the lines consistently being 3+ and I know they were up at 4 hours sometimes

people wait over three hours for both those rides. i see gatekeeper line being that longs as well just my .02cents not sure how long mavericks line was.

Well, and TTD regularly had 12+ hour waits.

In it's first year, we waited for TTD for 4.5 hours...getting in line at 6:30ish and still in line as the park closed around us. It was our first and only trip that year.

We never got on (they eventually just "called it")

The next year we decided to hit it first thing, and waited about 2.5 hours, finally making it on, making our total wait about 220 days.

:)

Promoter of fog.

anyone else remember in the summer of 2000,when MF 4 hour lines was the norm, getting a 'ticket' at the MF entrance indicating a time slot to come back. The MF queue lines originally went back to across the tracks from the train station. The concrete where that was is still there.

Should have sprung for FastLane, would have cut that down to 100 days or so ;)

That is so absurd of a statement, I have no choice but to call BS.

How long will gatekeepers be? I remember Mavericks first year we waited 2.5 hours, and that was early entry.

I would agree with you there, I have heard of 7 hour waits before. I am not even sure if that is true.

12 hours is preposterous. 12 hours "regularly" is something else entirely.

Ever consider that by 12 hours, he means the ride wasn't running?

In that case, I've seen a 6 month wait to ride Waveswinger!

I'm too sexy for my harness!

^ Well then if that's the case, his chose a poor way to communicate it.

I wait nearly 12 hours for each ride between the time I go to bed in camper village, and the time the park opens each day. Doesn't mean I make idiotic statements implying something different.

Opening year of Dragster (early July) I think was around a 3 hour wait. Opening year of Maverick (only about 2 weeks after the park opened) was a 3 1/2 hour wait. As long as bins don't mess things up, I predict that on opening day, GateKeeper will have a 3 hour wait. Hopefully this thing will eat people up. Please don't let it be more than that, 3 1/2 at the most.

It's hilarious because the second week of opening (the week days after Math & Science week) GateKeeper will probably have a 30-minute wait max, lol.

I've waited way more than 3 hours for Dragster the first year. One afternoon, when it still was missing a train and a car on each train (read: really early in the season) it had a pretty steady clip of mechanical/operational downtime where they would launch 3 or 4 trains then go down for 10 minutes then launch 5 trains and go down for 10 minutes, repeat. That combined with "arms down....arms down... arms down... arms down... arms down... arms down... arms down... arms down... arms down... arms down... arms down... arms down... arms down... arms down... arms down... arms down" EVERY FREAKING TRAIN! I got in line early in the afternoon and ended up with my first night ride after the park had closed. It was actually really fun, the entire line would erupt in cheers whenever the trains actually started moving again.

That said, this is a B&M, I expect none of those shenanigans here.

I rode MF on a special AAA preview day that was held a few days before the media and the general public, and waited in line 2.75 hours in line. Throughout MF's inaugural year, there were waits as long as 6 hours and the line stretched as far back into Frontier Town.

Well, when people would line up for it before 10am, and wait all day for it to open, only to have the park close at 10pm without opening to passengers.

I never said they got to ride for all their waiting.
