long distance season passers

I live 7 hours away, approx 411 miles and I wonder how rare that is for season pass holders.

Allan B in Kewanee Il.

I dunno about how rare it is, but I live almost the same distance (410 miles) from CP and have a season pass.

I'm 4 hours away, about 170 miles, and I make the trip about 4 times a year.

Forgot to add that I have a season pass.

I'm a decent run away from the park and I have a pass...

Before I worked there, I bought them and I live like 3 hours away.

I live about 3 hours away which is around 180 miles and I made the trip 6 times last year. I plan to go even more this year.
We made the trip only four times, but thats 2 days just for traveling. This year we have 4 trips planned with a possible 5th one on the back burner.
5 hours from CP, 1 hour from MiAdv. I have had season passes for the last 4 years. $90.00 is a great deal! I usually hit CP for multiple day stays a couple of times a year and MiAdv for several day trips.

Break it down at the end of the year and Amusement Parks CAN be a great value for your entertainment dollar.

I'm a third-year Cedar Point pass holder from Wisconsin. I pass Six Flags Great America every morning on my way to work, but have not been to that park in two years.

I've visited Cedar Point two to four times a year in the last three years, and for every trip except one, I've brought at least one person who had previously never been to Cedar Point in their life. I love bringing new people for three reasons. 1) I get to see the park through new eyes. 2) They can finally tell me that I was right all along about how great the park is. 3) I can retell all of my stories of how I've been coming to Cedar Point since 1975 ("The Earthquake ride used to be here, The Fun House had these great slides at the end, blah blah, etc. etc."). I just never get tired of telling them. :-)

Man, that sounds just like me,lol

I also live in the chicagoland area and didn't go to Six Flags once last year. We made 9 trips last year. But I would find a hotel you feel comfortabale with early because weekends can be rough for finding rooms when it gets warm. Last year me and my girlfriend fell in love with the Greentree Inn. It no longer is an option (bought out in the winter). So I'm sure the prices have gone up big time. We did find weekends were much cheaper in Norwalk,OH at the Comfort Inn. Just remember DON'T SPEED. It's a speed trap around closing time(rt 250). This year I don't have to worry about it since I will be working at CP this year.

Mr. Scott, I'm in the same boat you are, just without having gotten a season pass before. I used to live by Detroit and went every year from 1990 till 2000 but only once, maybe twice a year. Now I'm in Grand Rapids and am going to pick up my MA season pass Friday (have the day off work as a paid holiday) and will be using it often. I'm breaking it in opening weekend at CP and then probably opening weekend at MA since it's less than an hour away.

I actually worked an entire summer just north of MA (at a scout camp) and never went once.....stupid me.

I have a quick question for you, does the MA parking pass apply to other parks, or just MA?

Thanks,

John

John,

The Season Parking Pass is only good for the park you buy it at. Buy it at CP, and it's good at CP ONLY. Buy it at MiAdv, and it's good at MiAdv ONLY.

Stay OnPoint while at CP and buy your pass at MiAdv and win both ways.

:)

I live about 6 hours away from CP. Got me a season pass :)
Man i got you all beat!! Im from western kentucky and drove an astounding 9 and a half hours, and i still got a season pass.

I went 2 trips and stayed overall 6 days in the park, but it was worth getting a season pass.

Eric, you have impeccable taste in amusement parks :)

:)

Eric,

I may have you beat ever so slightly. I live in extreme eastern long island New York and it's 570 miles to CP (about 9.5-10 hours). My wife and I go twice a year for a week in May and the last full week in August.

6.5 hours here... Rochester, NY. Funny thing, we drive right past SFDL and TPFKASFWoA to get to CP... I go to SFDL just to get a "coaster fix" and what is now GL is fun for a change of pace, but CP is where it's at. We went 4 times last year (one week in June, a 3 day stay in July, a 3 day stay in August, and the crazy Columbus Day Halloweekends in October) and its worth every minute of the boring drive across I-90. Already have 3 trips planned this summer, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for 2005 b/c my wife is getting ready to go to grad school. The 2 finalists? University of Toledo (oh, I hope.... ) and a school in New Hampshire (LONGER drive to CP...:( ) So I'm seriously hoping to cut my drive considerably next year...

But then again, what do I know?

I live 8 hours away and I have a season pass!
