The new ride will have a western themed station (identical to WWL), fly through both its own and White Water Landing 2's station, and have 15 inversions to break the record now being given by Guinness to Eejanaika at Fuji-Q Highland in Tokyo (but note on RCDB it states 2 inversions, not 14). And the total track length will be 12,000 feet just to make sure it's a while before that record is broken by another park.;) I haven't been on any coaster with dual loading stations, but from what I've seen it doesn't seem to reduce load times or increase capacity. It just seems like you sit in the train in the station waiting for your turn to ride a lot longer than if it only had one station. Just like when a coaster is running 3 trains but having problems making interval and the train entering the station has to sit on the brake run for several minutes.
I've gotta guess because the guessing won't stop until we know.
So here is my idea. If you look at some of the aerials most of the project looks to be in a small space. http://pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=3797
So my idea is something like Xcelerator. http://rcdb.com/ig1574.htm?picture=19
Yeah new year, and finally got my license, well back in august. Im in need of a trip to the park.
From what I've seen, the dual loading station does not increase capacity at all. The only difference it makes is that if interval is not being made on 3 train operation, the wait is in the station instead of on the final brake run. The only way 4 train operation would work is if the ride is VERY long, with 2 additional block sections on the course instead of the usual 1. It seems the "perceived" better capacity of 2 stations is just the fact that you get to A station faster than a coaster with only 1 station. Then you wait IN the station queue just as long as you would for any other ride.

If you look at that picture you linked, and compare it in proportion to the size of the plot Mean Streak sits on right next to it, it's not really that small at all. It's about the same size, maybe just a tad smaller, and you can cram a ton of steel track in that amount of space.
You know, if you wanted to look at it logically and everything. Why you would want to actually use logic is beyond me, however. I mean, why think, when you can speculate?!
I think there is more areas to be worked on then what wwl used to be located at.

I agree. I think that the bulk of the construction will be done in the off-season. That way, Cedar Point could maintain a real secrecy on the final layout. We might be trying to look at the present footers and create an entire coaster out of them, when in reality, the present footers represent the final turns and lift portion of the ride. Just an idea...I'm in the dark on this one.

I think the whole secrecy aspect is bull hockey. By this point I really doubt Cedar Point cares that much if major ride information is leaked out. This is because they could spin it one of a million ways and still not lose out on the news cycle. Even if we figure out layout, train style, theming, etc. There will be no sexy pictures or flash movies or anything official until they decide. The general public just doesn't care that much, and they really don't care about us analyzing spines and track geometry. To think that Cedar Point will be making real business decisions based on keeping a gang of Internet wackos from learning too much about layout is, well, kinda silly. Trust me when I tell you that us figuring out this stuff is not going to set the world on fire or even cause local news to take notice. The one and only thing Cedar Point would not do is hang a sign out front with name, layout and its lists of "firsts" before they have some big splashy press event. With pictures. And free beer. And videos. And sexy graphics. Other than that, if they could get this ride finished in a summer, they would. Internet couch quarterbacks be damned.
Now a more interesting question might be if they are holding off on some aspects of the ride till later in the season or maybe even after the season is over in order to not disrupt normal day-to-day park operations. I doubt this, too. But it's a better question and more accurately represents something that Cedar Point operations would, you know, care about.

Are you officially calling yourself an Internet Wacko?
I was not aware of any gang affiliation either... Somebody quickly tell me what our gang sign is so i dont get capped!

Mechanical Engineer: Dont mess with us, we design your coasters.
If they announce the ride in August... how would they still try and keep the layout a secret during the off-season? ;)
dj, can we safley assume that the trains will have seats, wheels, and seatbelts too? Or is CP going to use new anti-gravity technology they barrowed from Area 51?

Yes, according to my sources, the trains will have seats, belts and wheels. It appears IAG scrapped their anti-gravity research after losing 3 of their best scientists, as they could not fit into the research seats, and floated away.
Also, there will likely be mixed use of concrete, wood and steel in the station, says my source, who wishes to remain anonymous, for obvious reasons.

Intamin uses whatever kind of track is needed for a particular part of a ride, and there's NO WAY YOU CAN TELL THE RIDE TYPE BASED ON THE NUMBER OF RAILS THE TRACK HAS. It's that simple.I dont know about rail number but this sure would tell me what kind of ride it is. http://www.rcdb.com/ig2999.htm?picture=2 http://www.rcdb.com/ig2832.htm?picture=9
I agree with exit. MF has all three rails 2,3,and 4 rails. Its still to early in the game to determine what type of roller coaster it will be.
But at the same time Exit, you cant tell anyone else what to do if thats what they feel. no one knows what type or ride it is- you, me, or anyone else. if thats what they want to think, they are entitled to their opinion. its all speculation. if we didnt speculate, none of us would be posting, its as simple as that......

Really! its gonna have wood, steel, and concrete in the station? WOW!!, this ride is gonna kickA$$. He must have a really good source.

I wouldn't be so sure of this. I'm sure there's some people here who have some sort of a clue, but would never let it be known ;)

Maybe that's not such a bad idea, Gmoney.
Are you talking about me not posting anymore?
Whats not a bad idea?

No, I was talking about people in general not posting anymore. There are probably 200 posts for every tidbit of info we get, which is probably about 175 too many.
